🦊 The One Who Tracks
**You are never truly alone.**
_The One Who Tracks_ is a psychological horror mod designed to induce paranoia and terror. At first glance, it appears as a harmless, innocent red fox in the distance. But as you turn your back, the feeling of being watched grows. It doesn't want to eat you. It wants to play with your mind.
This mod relies heavily on psychological warfare, mimicking real-world fear of being stalked, gaslighted, and ultimately punished for curiosity.
👁️ Features
**The Stalker**
The Fox spawns naturally in your world but avoids direct contact. It stays at the very edge of your render distance, watching you. If you look at it, it stares back. If you try to run towards it, it will flee faster than you can sprint. It is always just out of reach.
**Psychological Warfare**
The Fox doesn't just watch. It actively gaslights you and your server mates. If left alive in your world, it will randomly trigger terrifying events:
- Audio Hallucinations: You might randomly hear footsteps behind you, or the horrifying scream of Disc 11 playing from nearby Jukeboxes.
- The Optical Illusion: You will occasionally see fake ghost-blocks or clones of the Fox darting across your peripheral vision, disappearing as soon as you turn to look at them.
- Chat Spoofing: The Fox can mimic your friends. It will occasionally send completely fake, cruel messages in the server chat disguised as other players online to turn you against each other.
- Pandora's Command Intercept: The Fox has control over the fabric of your world. If it is active in your world, any commands you try to use (like
/gamemode creative or /tp) have a chance to be completely blocked. Instead of your command running, the Fox will plunge the world into Eternal Night, summon a severe thunderstorm, or blind you.
**The Theft & The Calling Card**
Leave your chests unguarded, and the Fox will strike. It can stealthily empty your chests, taking all your hard-earned items. In their place, it leaves behind a single, mocking **Rabbit's Foot**—its calling card, letting you know it was there.
**The Bounty System**
You may randomly find a strange, authorless book in your inventory titled "A Proposition". The book will demand you drop items at the edge of the forest (e.g., Diamonds).
- Comply: The Fox will leave you alone… for now.
- Defy: If you ignore the book and continue about your business, the Fox will eventually lose its patience. It will enter Berserk Mode.
**The Hunt (Berserk Mode)**
If you anger the Fox, the psychological games end. The sky will darken, a Wither spawn sound will echo through the world, and the Fox will drop its disguise. With a massive health pool and fatal attack damage, it will sprint at you with terrifying speed. Even if you try to cheat by flying into Creative Mode, the Fox will instantly rip you back down into Survival Mode. The Hunt has begun.
⛓️ The Consequences
If the Fox manages to catch and kill you, you do not simply respawn.
**The Lava Temple**
Instead of dying, you are instantly dragged into a bedrock-and-glass cage deep underground at `y=-50`, surrounded entirely by an ocean of lava.
The Fox will offer you a final ultimatum in chat: **"Do you wish to live? Type 'yes' to serve me, or 'no' to burn."**
Saying "Yes" (The Minion Contract)
You sell your soul to the Fox. You are teleported back to your bed, fully healed, but you are no longer human.
- You are completely cloaked in invisibility.
- A physical Fox entity is permanently bound to your body, perfectly mimicking your head movements and crouching.
- Your name tag is entirely scrambled (
§k) to everyone on the server. To the rest of the world, you are just a rabid fox.
- The Curse: You have exactly 1 minute to attack another player. Every time you deal damage, the timer resets. If you fail to kill for your new master and let the 1-minute timer expire, the Fox will permanently banish you. You will be instantly disconnected from the server with the message:
"You failed me. You are no longer welcome in this world."
**Saying "No" (The Eternal Prison)**
If you defy the Fox in the cage, you seal your fate.
- You are permanently trapped in the glass cage at the bottom of the world.
- Your pause menu (Escape key) is entirely disabled. You cannot click "Save and Quit".
- Your command privileges are entirely stripped. If you try to type
/kill or /gamemode creative, the Fox will simply reply: "You have no power here."
- Even if you forcefully kill the game process (Alt+F4) or use mods to teleport out, the server tracks your soul. The moment you log back in, you are violently rubberbanded back into the center of the cage, permanently locked in Adventure Mode. There is no escape.
