The Last Train

A bodycam horror mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 (Fabric).

You have three days. On the third night something takes you, and you wake up in a dark house where it is always night. Something lives there. It is blind, but it hears everything: your steps, the doors, your breathing. Find a way out and catch the last train before it leaves without you.

How it works

Three days

Once the mod is installed, the curse starts in your normal world. A counter shows DAY 1/3 and things slowly get worse: sounds behind you, a red moon, faceless villagers, a tall figure watching you from far away. A red diary gives you small tasks each day that help you later. On the third night you "die" and wake up in the house. Your items are kept safe.

Want to skip the three days? Use /lasttrain start to play the house right away.

The house

• A two-floor mansion with 24 rooms: bedrooms, a library, a kitchen, a chapel, a nursery, a basement, an attic and more.
• The layout is different every game: rooms, doors, boarded passages and where the items are hidden.
• The front door has three locks: find the key, the crowbar and the fuse.
• Get out, reach the station and board the train to wake up at home.

The Blind One

The monster cannot see. It hunts by sound:

• It hears your steps (sneaking is almost silent), jumps, doors, chests and broken blocks.
• It hears your breathing. Hold V to hold your breath, but your air runs out, and gasping is loud.
• It clicks to find prey by echo. Standing still is not always enough, so crouch.
• When it loses you, it searches: it walks to where it last heard you and taps on the wardrobes, listening.
• It roams the house room by room, remembers where it caught you before, and sometimes simply stands still and waits in the dark.
• It gets faster and angrier every time you die.

Tools and tricks

• Wardrobes: hide inside and look out through the slats.
• Bottles: throw them to make a noise somewhere else.
• Flashlight: helps you see, but the click can be heard.
• Creaky floorboards: they look almost like the rest of the floor.

Other things in the house

• The doll moves only when nobody is looking.
• The Double wears a friend's face and name, and may even write to you in chat, pretending to be them. It does not send real messages; it is only part of the game, and it can be turned off in the config.
• The Watcher stands in the distance. Don't look straight at it.
• A secret room behind a bookshelf, hidden notes about the family, and a second ending that lifts the curse for good.

Bodycam

Everything is seen through a chest camera: shaky handheld movement, fisheye, VHS noise, scanlines, a REC overlay, and the picture tears when the monster is close. When you die, the tape rewinds. Press F7 to turn the effect off.

Multiplayer

Works in multiplayer. The mod must be installed on both the client and the server. Every player gets their own safe bedroom.

Settings

config/lasttrain.json:

• Difficulty: EASY, NORMAL or NIGHTMARE
• number of days, how often scares happen
• the Watcher and the Double can be turned off
• monster speed and hearing, how long the train waits

Note: while the curse is active, "Save and Quit" only works after pressing it several times. This is a scare effect, not a bug, and it can be disabled in the config.

Commands

• /lasttrain start: play the house right now
• /lasttrain stop: end the game
• /lasttrain curse status | trigger | reset: check, trigger or restart the three days
