The Joy Of Tinkering is an add-on for Tinker's Construct intended to expand the mod by implementing a variety of new tools, armor, and modifiers.
Tools
This mod currently has two tools, the Revolver and the Rifle. Also included is the Bullet as ammunition for these firearms.
The Revolver is a smaller but heavier firearm, with greater projectile power. Conversely, the Rifle has greater ammo capacity but less power.
Armor
Also included is a (not complete) set of Ancient armor, which cannot be crafted but have unique abilities.
The Crested Helmet increases melee damage, the Rockpuncher chestplate permits mining with bare hands, and the Lava Loafers allow the wearer to walk on lava like a Strider.
Modifiers
JOT includes some craftable modifiers to improve your tools:
- Well-Read allows you to read books directly from your helmet
- Aquambulant lets you walk on water
- Bandolier modifiers for storing bullets in your gun
Materials
JOT adds one new material, Slimebronze, for use in tool construction. On weapons, it consumes Overslime to empower attacks with fire. On armor, it consumes Overslime to set attackers alight.
The mod also adds Buckets of Slime, which can be used to create a new set of Slimeskulls from slime-type mobs:
- Slime Slimeskulls distribute Overslime to held tools and worn armor
- Skyslime Slimeskulls increase knockback received
- Enderslime Slimeskulls allow quickly swapping equipped armor
- Magma Slimeskulls let you temporarily swim in lava
- Terracube Slimeskulls can temporarily increase defense
