What's new

The Engineer's Toolkit 1.3

For Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.249 or later in the 1.21.1 series, and Java 21. Install the matching Toolkit version on the client and server. Supported storage and technology mods are optional and are not included.

Sophisticated Storage support

  • Copy reviewed controls, locks, filters and upgrade settings between compatible stationary barrels, Limited Barrels, chests and placed shulker boxes.
  • Install missing supported upgrades and increasing storage tiers using physical items from inventory or linked AE storage. Already installed matching modules are reused.
  • Preserve destination contents, identity and remembered items. Copying a lock does not copy the source's remembered item.
  • Configured upgrade items stored in AE can fund a later paste, including items that were configured by a previous Toolkit paste.

Functional Storage support

  • Copy controls, locks, compatible upgrade items and settings, priority and the linked Storage Controller for regular/framed item and Fluid drawers with matching 1-, 2- or 4-compartment layouts.
  • Puller, pusher and collector directions remain aimed at the same world direction, including up and down.
  • Preserve destination items, fluids, remembered filters and drawer appearance. Source contents and remembered item/fluid types are not copied. Generator upgrades can assign their fixed output to an empty unassigned destination so generation works with a copied lock.
  • Missing upgrade items use inventory/offhand or linked AE funding. Existing upgrades are retained, repeat paste pays only for outstanding requests, and failed transactions restore destination state and payment.
  • Iron Downgrade is supported only when the destination contents fit the resulting capacity; an unsafe downgrade is skipped without charging its item.
  • Ender drawers copy the source frequency and join its existing shared inventory. This makes that frequency's items visible at the destination. The old destination frequency retains its contents and settings; shared lock/void flags are inherited from the joined frequency.
  • Unavailable, inaccessible or out-of-range controllers leave the destination's existing link in place and produce a report.

Compacting/simple-compacting drawers, Armory Cabinets and controller/access-point/extension blocks themselves remain excluded.

Gadget screens and feedback

  • Saved configurations use the Field Guide's dark blue and copper appearance, with a selected configuration summary on wider screens.
  • Fully successful actions retain their action-bar messages. Incomplete or rejected actions show a separate list on the left with missing upgrade names and reasons, without filling chat.
  • Adjust the popup in config/engineerstoolkit-client.toml: [gadgetReport] backgroundOpacityPercent defaults to 65 (0–100), and displaySeconds defaults to 6 (1–60). These are local client settings.
  • Open Last report from the gadget's saved-configuration screen to reread the most recent incomplete action. It remains available after the popup expires or a later action succeeds. A new incomplete report replaces it; leaving the world clears it.

All existing 1.2.1 features remain included. Public compatibility API v1 is unchanged.
