What's new
The Engineer's Toolkit 1.2.0
Release for Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.252 or later in the 1.21.1 series, and Java 21. Install the playable JAR on the client and server. Supported technology mods are optional and are not included.
New in 1.2.0
- Industrial Foregoing support: copy and paste machine settings for 14 types, including the Souls Soul Laser Base. Supported settings include sides, redstone controls, filters, locks and special machine controls. Selected More Industrial Foregoing Addons upgrades are supported too.
- Take paste items from AE2 wireless storage: the gadget can now get supported upgrade items from the linked ME network when you paste. This works with AE2 cards, Mekanism and Pipez upgrades, Ender IO capacitors, and Industrial Foregoing and MIFA upgrades. Items already installed are reused; replaced items are returned to your inventory or dropped nearby if it is full. Missing upgrade items do not stop other settings from being pasted. Blank patterns still come from your inventory.
- Use the AE2 wireless range: the gadget follows the linked network's active Wireless Access Point coverage, including standard AE2 boosters. Supported AEInfinityBooster cards extend this to unlimited range in one dimension or across dimensions. A Quantum Network Bridge can connect a network across dimensions; you still need a local wireless access point there unless a Dimension Card provides coverage. If an item is missing and you are outside wireless coverage, the gadget tells you.
- In-game Toolkit Field Guide: open the guide from the gadget's preset menu, press H while holding the gadget, or hold H over it in your inventory or JEI. It has a searchable index and 11 help pages. Change the guide key in Controls > Key Binds. The guide is included with Toolkit and needs no other guide mod.
- Short and detailed item help: hold N over the gadget for details or Shift + N for a short description, in your inventory or JEI. These keys can be changed in Controls > Key Binds.
Fixed
- Fixed an error when pasting Mekanism Extras upgrades with AE2 installed. Both inventory and linked ME funding now recognise Extras upgrade types. If you encounter this on an older version, update to 1.2.0.
Existing features
- Configuration Gadget with five named presets, inventory icon and 3D held model.
- Copy and paste supported settings for Mekanism, Mekanism Extras, Pipez, Ender IO, AE2 and reviewed AE2 add-ons.
- Direction-aware pipe and conduit settings, item-funded upgrades, capacitors, filters, AE2 cards and pattern copying.
- Public compatibility API v1 and a matching developer kit. Existing API v1 integrations and saved gadget presets remain compatible.
Controls
- Hold Shift and right-click a supported block to copy its settings.
- Right-click a matching block to paste the selected saved setup.
- Right-click while pointing away from blocks to choose or rename a saved setup.
- Hold Shift and right-click while pointing away from blocks to clear the selected setup. Other slots and slot names are kept.
- Hold N for details, Shift + N for the description, or H to open the guide while hovering over the gadget.
Compatibility
Coverage varies by device and reviewed mod version. See the bundled compatibility documents for the supported settings. Machine contents, energy, ownership, network pairings and running jobs are not copied. Mekanism upgrades are topped up to the requested count; excess upgrades are not removed. A linked ME source is used only when the linked grid is loaded, active and provides wireless coverage; the gadget does not load chunks for it.
Industrial Foregoing Transporter attachments, conveyors and Infinity tool/backpack controls are not included. Create, Refined Storage and the universal wrench are future work. The retired Test Machine remains absent.
Normal players need only the main JAR. The separate developer-kit ZIP is for mod authors and should not go in the mods folder. Complete Toolkit sources remain private; only the public API reference sources and independently licensed example are in the developer kit.
