Description

End: Expanded

A completely new and frightening experience of the once familiar End Islands

(This mod is still under heavy development and may have lots of glitches)

Note: shaders, such as Complimentary Unbound, are highly recommended.

This mod does not revamp the Main Island or change the Ender Dragon; it is recommended to add another mod (or multiple) to do that for better immersion. Compatible with many other End mods.

This mod overhauls the End Islands to implement more danger, mystery, and reasons to explore. Notable features include:

  • 6 new unique End biomes!
  • 8 new End structures (excluding their variants)!
  • 6 new End mobs with new niches never seen before in vanilla Minecraft!
  • A new alternative to Netherite with its own abilities (like how Netherite can't burn): Enderite!
  • Tons of new decoration and building blocks, such as Chorus Wood, and also blocks that should've been in the game for years (like Purpur Walls)!
  • A new miniboss: The Watcher (I wouldn't recommend trying to beat him 👀)
  • A new fluid: Ender Honeydew. It's highly flammable, just like gasoline.
  • New redstone blocks, such as Instant Honeydew TNT!

Detailed Section (Spoilers)

An overview of some of the important features.

Small Quality of Life Improvements

1: End Stone can now be used to craft stone tools and blocks. 2: Purpur Walls and cracked End Stone Bricks have been added. 3: A /visitend command has been added for users with Operator and cheats enabled.

New Enchantments

1: The Watching Enchant is incompatible with Sweeping Edge; it highlights the enemies you attack and has 2 levels that change the duration. 2: Capture is incompatible with Knockback; it does the opposite of knockback (pulls enemies towards you) and has two levels that change the strength of the pull. 3: Soft Shell is incompatible with Sharpness, Bane of Arthopods, and Smite. It does more damage to mobs with shells, like shulkers and turtles.

Enderite

A new material that can be found by smelting End Relics, which can be found around the map. It can be used to craft tools and armour. The Enderite tools swing slightly faster than Netherite tools, and the armour gives you feather falling while crouched, which is useful in the End, as you can save yourself when falling into the void more easily. Unlike Netherite equipment, Enderite equipment burns in lava and fire.

Mimic Bugs

A mimic bug (or The Mimic) is a small bug-like mob found in the Dead Swamps biome. It appears when a Mimic Nest is broken and can be captured in a bottle, though it may escape if held in your main hand. It attacks the nearest mob and deals serious damage, especially to non-player entities. After killing a target, it takes its form and uses its abilities and attacks with increased strength. If hit while disguised, it reverts to its true form and briefly inflicts blindness and poison before escaping or attacking again. It drops Mimic Guts, which can be used to brew an Anti-Mimic potion.

Enderelder

The Enderelder looks like an Enderman with a reversed colour palette (discluding the eyes) and a loose jaw. Once you attack it, it will panic and run very fast around you and start a ~4-second timer. If you don't hit it again in that time period, it will teleport away forever. Every hit resets the timer until you eventually kill it. It drops the Homestead Pearl.

Homestead Pearl

A Homestead Pearl is dropped by an Enderelder upon death. It looks like a purple enderpearl with cracks in it. If you hold it down for 2 seconds, it will bring you back to your respawn point and disappear.

Anti-Mimic Potion

An Anti-Mimic potion, crafted with Mimic Guts (dropped by Mimics on death), has 3 functions. First, it will make a Mimic stop disguising itself as another entity and will make it revert to its original form. Second, it gives Mimics a special poison that will deal tons of damage to them. Lastly, it protects entities with the effect from getting killed by a Mimic.

Chorus Wood

It's a new wood found in the End Lush Forest... that's it.

Watching Eye & Watching Gem

A Watching Eye is an eye-shaped block that spawns baby Ender Beedles on spawn, implying that the baby Ender Beedles were being protected by the eye. It spawns in many areas, but mostly in End Lush forests on the bigger Chorus trees. If it sees you destroying important parts of its habitat, it may get mad and strike you with lightning. A Watching Gem is a gem that reveals nearby entities and has 5 uses. It can also be used to craft a Watching Eye. It can be crafted with 8 Ender Eyes and an Ender Bloom.

Glowing Potion

Finally gives the Glowing effect an actual potion. Can be brewed with a Watching Gem.

Endersnapper Variants & Anger Potion

An Endersnapper is a mob that appears to be a mix of a snapping turtle and a tortoise that spawns in the Dry End Highlands and End Lush Forest. It poisons its enemy on attack and can be set on fire. It does 22 damage, has 45 health, and drops an Ender Scute. It does not take much knockback. The Ashen Endersnapper can be found in the Ashen Meadows. It is much larger than a normal Endersnapper, takes essentially no knockback, does 28 damage, has 70 health, and is immune to fire. Normal Endersnappers that are struck by lightning become Ashen Endersnappers. It drops a Burnt Ender Scute, which can be used to craft an Anger Potion: a potion that makes an entity constantly attempt to attack the nearest mob.

Ender Beedles

An Ender Beedle is a mob that can be found in almost all biomes except the End Highlands and Ashen Meadows. Once dead, it spawns Ender Honeydew (if an adult) and drops Ender Hide, similar to leather. More importantly, though, it also spawns 4 baby Ender Beedles when it dies, which do not grow up. When baby Ender Beedles are struck by lightning, they become adults. It mostly hunts for Endermites and is prey to Endersnappers. Once it kills something, it "eats" it and becomes larger and stronger.

Ender Honeydew & Instant TNT

Ender Honeydew is a new liquid; it is essentially Ender Beedles' insect juice, meaning it drops from Ender Beedles on death. It is highly flammable, similar to gasoline, and pushes entities towards the centre of it. It can be used to craft Instant TNT, which is TNT that, because of the honeydew's highly flammable properties, explodes instantly once lit.

The Watcher

The Watcher is a miniboss that looks like a huge enderman with purple veins visible all over it. His right arm is significantly bigger than his other limbs, and he uses this arm to attack. When he attacks, he slams his right arm into the ground, creating a large explosion. He can be found extremely rarely wandering the End Highlands, or he can be spawned by going to the Watcher's Temple structure and completing the shrine. However, the temple is rigged to blow up if you attempt to steal parts of the shrine. He has 450 health and is immune to arrows, fire, explosions, and potion effects.
