The Book of Wishes

An ancient entity awakens. It reads your wishes. It grants anything. It always demands payment.

The Book of Wishes adds a magical book item to Minecraft that lets players submit wishes to a powerful AI entity. The entity can grant virtually anything — items, powers, world changes, even destruction of other players' builds. But every wish comes with a cost, and the entity always collects.

How It Works

1. Craft the Book — Combine a Writable Book, Ender Eye, and Nether Star
2. Write Your Wish — Open the book and type what you desire
3. Submit — The AI entity reads your wish and decides what happens
4. Pay the Price — If granted, the entity demands payment: items, XP, or resources

The AI behaves like a mythological wish-granter — sometimes generous, sometimes cunning, always watching.

What Can You Wish For?

The AI supports 50+ action types and automatically recognizes modded items and blocks from other mods.

AI Backend Options

Choose the AI provider that fits your setup:

• Embedded (Recommended) — Runs a local GGUF model inside the mod. No internet required, fully offline, private.
• Groq — Fast cloud inference via Groq API. Free tier available. Great quality.
• Ollama — Connect to a local Ollama instance. Good for users already running Ollama.
• OpenAI — Uses OpenAI's API for high-quality responses.
• Anthropic — Uses Claude via Anthropic's API.

The Entity Has a Personality

The AI isn't just a command parser — it has moods and tendencies. Five personality types can appear:

• Kind — Forgiving prices, generous grants, helpful hints
• Greedy — Demands premium payment, but always delivers
• Trickster — Grants the wish with a twist
• Ancient — Speaks in riddles, prices scale with hubris
• Chaotic — Unpredictable. May grant, deny, or do something unexpected

Your reputation with the entity grows over time. Wish wisely, and it may show mercy.

Payment System

No wish is ever free — unless you're an operator or in Creative mode.

Payment scales with:

• Wish power — Bigger wishes cost more
• Your reputation — Trusted players get better deals
• Difficulty — Prices increase the more you wish

The entity may ask for specific items, XP levels, named items, or even resources from nearby players.

In-Game Configuration

All settings can be changed directly from the Minecraft Mods menu — no config file editing required. Toggle features, adjust AI settings, change payment rules, and configure safety limits without leaving the game.

Mod Compatibility

The mod automatically scans installed mods' registries to recognize their items, blocks, entities, and effects. The AI will know about your modded content without any extra configuration.

A /wishes modlist command lets you browse all detected mods and their registered content in-game.

For Server Admins

• Safety limits — Max destruction radius, immortality duration caps, PvP restrictions
• Wish logging — All wishes logged to disk for admin review
• Permission-based — OP players bypass all costs
• Configurable crafting — Enable or disable the crafting recipe via config
• Per-book wish limits — Control how many wishes each book can hold
