THE ABSENCE

The Absence is a psychological horror mod focused on atmosphere, exploration and survival.

Something unnatural has begun appearing beneath the surface. After discovering it, the player becomes involved in a series of increasingly disturbing events that slowly transform the normal Minecraft experience into something much darker.

Creatures

The mod introduces several original creatures, including The Absence, The Eye Man and The Cave Man.

Each creature has its own behavior, atmosphere and role in the experience. Some may hunt you directly, while others prefer to watch, follow or wait for the right moment to appear.

Events and Progression

The world can be affected by different horror events as the player progresses. These encounters may involve unusual sounds, visual changes, unexpected appearances and other disturbances.

Progress is individual for each player, including most creatures, events and challenges.

The mod is designed to be discovered without spoilers. Explore caves, investigate anything unusual and use the advancements menu if you need guidance.

Highly Recommended Mods

• Just Enough Items (JEI) — Highly recommended for viewing the mod’s crafting recipes.

• A weapon or gun mod — Also highly recommended, as some encounters can be extremely dangerous with only vanilla equipment.

These mods are recommendations and are not required for The Absence to run.

This is the first public release, so some bugs may still be present.
