Terraria: Echoes

Terraria's most iconic bosses, reborn in Minecraft. Not ports — reimaginings. Built with multi-part combat, layered visual spectacle, and a soundtrack to match, Echoes begins with the Empress of Light and the Lihzahrd Golem, with more to follow.

Terraria's bosses, reborn in Minecraft.

What This Is

Terraria: Echoes brings the bosses of Terraria into Minecraft — not as direct ports, but as reimaginings built from the ground up for a 3D, first-person, block-based combat space.

Every boss is treated as a full encounter: multi-part anatomy, readable attack patterns, distinct phase transitions, and a spectacle layer that turns each move into an event rather than a hitbox. The goal is simple — bosses you remember, not bosses you grind.

Echoes begins with two: the Empress of Light and the Lihzahrd Golem. More will follow.

Design Philosophy

Multi-part bosses, real consequences. Bosses are not single health bars. Arms, heads, and cores are independent entities with their own roles, and what you break — or leave intact — changes how the fight plays out.

Readable combat. Every attack has a wind-up, a burst, and a recovery. You are meant to learn the language of each boss, not memorize a pattern.

Spectacle with restraint. Layered particles, dynamic color, and sound design are used to make each move feel like a performance — never to drown the screen.

Movement is rewarded. Positioning, timing, and terrain use matter. Standing still and trading hits is not a strategy here.

Phases that change the fight, not just the numbers. When a boss enters its second phase, you are playing a different encounter.

Current Bosses

Chapter I — The Empress of Light Based on the official Terraria introduction:

"A beautiful, radiant creature that dwells in the Hallow. Its ethereal wings shimmer with the colors of the rainbow. It is said to be the guardian of the Hallow's light."

A bullet-hell ballet — sweeping rainbow arcs, tracking lances, and a furious daylight form that punishes every mistake. Break her rhythm, and she breaks you.

Chapter II — The Lihzahrd Golem Based on the official Terraria introduction:

"A massive stone construct that guards the Lihzahrd Temple. It is powered by a mysterious ancient energy, and its body can separate into independent parts."

Stone against steel. His arms extend on chains, his body leaps with crushing weight, and his eyes burn through walls. Tear him apart piece by piece — but be careful what you break first.

What This Mod Does (and Does Not) Add

This mod only adds the bosses themselves and a set of original drop items (materials, trophies, masks — inspired by Terraria's loot, but created for Minecraft).

It does not recreate Terraria's weapons, armor, accessories, or any other equipment. If you are looking for a full Terraria equipment overhaul, this is not that mod.

Future plans: If there is enough interest, future updates may expand into weapons and equipment. For now, the focus is on making the boss fights themselves as good as they can be.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.1
  • NeoForge 21.1.249 or later
  • Java 21
  • Curios API — required for accessory slots and certain drop items

No other dependencies.

Configuration

A client-side config file is generated on first launch, allowing you to tune particle density, visual intensity, and audio levels to suit your setup. Recommended settings for lower-end machines are documented in the config comments.
