Minecraft 1.21.1. NeoForge and Fabric builds share the same gameplay core. New systems default off until enabled in config; existing worlds remain compatible.

  • Tooltip / inspect polish — optional lines for block-at-max-EP reasons and multi-branch hints; /gearevolution inspect compact / verbose / explain unchanged in spirit.

  • Traits (optional) — data-driven trait_definitions.json; evolution rolls; tooltips and verbose inspect. Default off.
  • Tool specializations — optional specialization on evolution option entries; resolver respects stored spec on tools.
  • Set bonuses (optional)set_definitions.json; armor matching; safe modifier apply/remove on equip. Default off.
  • Milestone gates (optional)milestone_gates.json (kills, biome, dimension, Y, block breaks, structures, etc.); mining and kill evolution paths respect gates; inspect explains blocks. Default off.
  • Context EP modifiers (optional)context_ep_modifiers.json; mining and kill EP scaling by context; capped via config. Default off.
  • Awakening (optional) — within-tier loop; /gearevolution awaken at max EP; stacking EP_GAIN with configurable curve. Default off.
  • Challenge / corruption (optional) — when milestones are off but a gate would block, evolutions can roll backlash (effects + EP trim). Strictly opt-in. Default off.
  • Fabric — Cloth Config + Mod Menu screens (JSON config still supported; restart to apply JSON changes).
  • Cloth Config: Every option now has a hover tooltip in plain language (same en_us.json keys as labels + .tooltip).
