Tensura: Gear Evolution
Tensura: Gear Evolution is an addon for Tensura on Minecraft 1.21.1 that adds EP-based evolution ladders for vanilla gear, selected Tensura weapon families, and several optional compatibility mods.
It does not replace Tensura's gear system. Tensura stays the source of truth for EP storage, repair, kill EP, and native evolution behavior. This addon mainly supplies progression data, mining EP for tools, optional compat ladders, operator diagnostics, and pack-friendly tuning.
How It Works
Use supported gear normally. Combat gear gains EP through Tensura's normal combat / kill EP behavior, while supported tools gain EP from mining blocks. When a supported item reaches its EP threshold, Tensura's evolution system handles the upgrade.
For backpack progression, hold the backpack in your main hand or off-hand for EP gain and evolution tracking.
Features
- Vanilla gear bridges for armor, swords, axes, pickaxes, shovels, hoes, bows, crossbows, and tridents into Tensura-native progression.
- Crafted Tensura weapon-family bridges for great swords, katanas, kodachi, long swords, short swords, odachi, tachi, scythes, sickles, and spears.
- Gold / silver / mithril side branches for armor and the silver -> mithril -> low magisteel sword/axe line.
- Mining EP for supported tools from block breaking.
- Operator commands such as
/gearevolution inspect and /gearevolution dump.
- Datapack extensions through
data/<namespace>/addon_chains/*.json.
- Pack tuning through per-family toggles, mining/kill multipliers, threshold scaling, stat-scaling controls, and debug options.
- Native Tensura tooltip source of truth - this addon no longer adds its own EP / next-tier tooltip overlay, so players read EP, cap, and next evolution directly from Tensura's own tooltip.
