Horror Mod

Nothing here can be killed. All you can do is hide.

Horror Mod brings analog-horror creatures to Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge). They show up at your windows, knock on your door, walk into your house, wait while you sleep and even pretend to be the things you mine and chop.

Monsters

• The Stalker – lurks in the dark. Freezes when you look at it, runs when you don't.
• The Window Watcher – taps on your window. Look at it and it climbs onto your roof… then appears behind you.
• The Counter – each time you look at it, it reappears in a closer window.
• The Intruder – comes through your front door and hunts you.
• The Knocker – knocks on your door. Do NOT open it.
• The Tenant – sometimes your hiding spot is already occupied.
• The Colossus – a huge deformed giant. A warning says it is 300 blocks away, and the number keeps dropping. It sees you from far away and breaks blocks to reach you.
• The Shattered – "I don't like this body. Can you help me?" It explodes into pieces; find them all in 30 seconds or it rebuilds itself, loves your skin and chases you.
• The Visitor – appears while you sleep and asks for 3 easy items. You have 10 seconds for each.
• The Mimic (new) – disguised as a tree, chest, diamond ore or a harmless animal. Try to chop, break, open or hit it and it reveals itself with a scream and hunts you down.
• The Cave Dweller (new) – only in caves. It stalks you, then appears in front of you and demands minerals depending on the pickaxe in your hand (wood/stone: log, cobblestone, coal · iron: gold, iron, copper · diamond: diamond, gold, emerald). You have 3 minutes. If you don't pay, it chases you.
• The Sentinel (new) – sits guarding a shiny treasure. Steal it and it screams "WHY DID YOU STEAL?" three times, louder each time, then hunts you. Ignore it for 30-60 s and it leaves the item on the ground and walks away.
• The Sleeper (new) – sleeps on the ground. Make noise (break/place blocks, jump, sprint) and it wakes up and sprints at you. It grabs your head to crush it: mash SPACE to break free. Win and it flees; lose and you die.

Hiding

Sneak + right-click a bed, barrel or chest to hide when a monster is near. If it sees you hide… good luck.

Multiplayer: Deformed players

When a monster catches you in a world with 2+ players there is a 5% chance you become Deformed instead of dying. You walk normally, but your body is twisted, you cannot hide, and you are forced to attack whoever looks at you. With Simple Voice Chat your voice sounds distorted to others. Die and respawn to be cured.

• All monsters are invulnerable by design.
• Optional: Simple Voice Chat for the distorted voice effect.
• Music and sprites are original.
