Template Copier

Template Copier is a lightweight NeoForge mod that adds a powered machine for duplicating Smithing Templates.

Instead of repeatedly searching for additional templates or spending resources on vanilla duplication recipes, you can place a template into the Template Copier, supply it with FE (Forge Energy), and let the machine create copies automatically.

The original template is never consumed.

How to Use

1. Craft and place the Template Copier.
2. Supply the machine with FE using a compatible generator, cable or other energy source.
3. Place a Smithing Template into the left input slot.
4. The machine will begin copying it automatically.
5. Completed copies appear in the output slot on the right.
6. The original template remains in the input slot and can be reused indefinitely.

Default Configuration

By default, the Template Copier has:

Energy Capacity: 1,000,000 FE
Energy per Copy: 300,000 FE
Copy Time: 20 seconds

These values can be changed through the mod's configuration file.

Modded Smithing Template Support

Template Copier automatically recognizes items based on Minecraft's Smithing Template item type, which means many templates added by other mods work without requiring dedicated compatibility.

Additional unusual/custom template items can also be supported through the:

templatecopier:copyable_templates

item tag.

This allows modpack creators to add compatibility for additional items without modifying Template Copier itself.

Automation

Template Copier supports automation.

Items can be inserted into the template input and completed copies can be extracted using compatible automation systems.

The machine prevents automation from inserting items into the output slot and keeps the original template inside the machine while copies are produced.

Requirements

Minecraft: 1.21.1
Mod Loader: NeoForge
NeoForge: 21.1.222 or newer

No additional mods are required.

Any compatible FE-producing mod can be used to power the machine.

Modpack Permission

You are welcome to include Template Copier in modpacks.

Template Copier may be included in both public and private modpacks, including modpacks distributed through CurseForge.

You do not need to ask for permission before including the mod in a modpack.

Please distribute the original, unmodified version of Template Copier and provide appropriate credit or a link to the official project page where practical.

Re-uploading Template Copier as a standalone mod, claiming the mod as your own, or distributing modified versions without permission is not allowed.
