Description
Tekkit Visuals
The shader mod Tekkit Classic never had. Real-time shadows, waving foliage, water reflections and god rays for Minecraft 1.2.5 — with a complete, tuned shader pack built in. No hunting dead forum links for fifteen-year-old shaderpacks: install, press F6, play.
✨ What you get
- ☀️ Shadow-mapped sunlight with soft ambient fill and a full day/night color cycle
- 🌾 Waving grass, wheat, leaves, flowers, lily pads and water — everything breathes
- 🌊 Water reflections — screen-space, or true second-camera planar reflections that mirror cliffs and trees even when they're off screen
- 🌅 God rays, volumetric light and ground fog
- 🔦 Held-torch light — carry a torch and the cave lights up around you, mobs included
- 🌧️ Rain that feels wet — darkened ground, glossy puddles, softened light
- 🎨 7 water tints, filmic tonemap, vignette and color palettes
- 🌿 Grassier Grass — lush 3D grass tufts · 🍃 Leafier Leaves — full 3D canopies
- 🍂 Falling Leaves particles · 💧 Visual waterlogging for fences, stairs & slabs
Everything toggles live from the F6 menu (17 shader options + 4 features) and persists between sessions. One look, tuned by hand — no presets to fiddle with.
📦 Installation (PrismLauncher — no jar modding!)
- Edit your Tekkit Classic instance → Version tab
- Click Add agent → select
tekkit-visuals-agent-1.2.5.jar(no options string needed) - Launch, join a world, press F6
That's the whole install. The mod ships none of the game's code — it patches Minecraft's own classes in memory as they load, so your jars stay untouched and vanilla-clean.
Requirements: Tekkit Classic 3.1.2 (its bundled OptiFine is required — the mod builds on it). A GPU made in the last decade is plenty; planar reflections and volumetric effects are opt-in if you're on a potato.
Troubleshooting:
- Check
<instance>/minecraft/tv-agent.log— you should see seven+++ patchedlines. - Solid blue/black screen with shaders on? Toggle the last option you changed and press F6
again; the console logs
[TekkitVisuals] FAILED <file>lines you can report. - Using the old jarmod build? Remove it — the agent replaces it and they can't coexist.
❓ Why is there no shaderpack picker?
A 1.2.5 shader engine can only run 2011–2013-era packs, and those are effectively lost to dead download links. So instead of a picker pointing at nothing, Tekkit Visuals ships one complete original pack, tuned by eye over many sessions — take it or leave it. 😄

- The pack's look carries the DNA of the classic ShadersMod-era packs (SonicEther / Chocapic13 / Paoloq09 lineage) that defined Minecraft shaders.
- Bundles ObjectWeb ASM (BSD-3-Clause). Full notices in
