Description
Techguns Light
Techguns is back. Yes, really.
Remember Techguns from Minecraft 1.7.10 and 1.12.2? Well, someone decided it was a good idea to bring the whole thing to 1.20.1.
This is an unofficial, independently developed recreation of the original Techguns mod, rebuilt from the ground up for modern Minecraft Forge. It's not just the old mod with a new version number slapped onto it. The systems have been reimplemented, modernized, and expanded with features that weren't part of the original experience.
Techguns Light is still in active development. We're continuing to improve the mod, fix issues, and refine existing systems. Expect further updates and changes as development continues.
What's in the Mod?
A Ridiculous Amount of Guns
- Pistols, revolvers, shotguns, assault rifles, SMGs, sniper rifles, and miniguns.
- Lasers, plasma weapons, Tesla guns, rocket launchers, and nuclear weapons.
- Advanced ballistics, recoil, armor penetration, and damage falloff.
- Dual-wielding support and customizable, shareable crosshairs.
Armor That Actually Does Something
- Multiple armor tiers, from basic combat equipment to futuristic power armor.
- Jetpacks, gliders, anti-gravity packs, and powered exosuits.
- Extra equipment slots, ammunition storage, and automatic feeding.
- Radiation protection, specialized damage resistance, and equipment HUDs.
Machines, Factories, and Questionable Engineering
- Metal Press, Ammo Press, Blast Furnace, Chemical Laboratory, and more.
- Multiblock factories, nuclear processing, and automated ore drilling.
- New Combustion Generator and Plasma Reactor.
- Built-in Forge Energy support, so you can power your machines without installing another technology mod.
Enemies With Actual Firepower
- Armed zombies, skeleton soldiers, bandits, and military units.
- Super Mutants, Cyberdemons, aliens, and bosses.
- Attack helicopters, because apparently regular zombies weren't enough.
- Military bases, abandoned facilities, dungeons, and dangerous exploration.
- Increasing enemy difficulty the farther you travel from spawn.
Other Cool Stuff
- CustomNPCs integration with configurable Techguns weapon support.
- JEI, CraftTweaker, CC: Tweaked, and Patchouli integration.
- Dynamic lighting support.
- Customizable weapon sound categories.
- Advanced death effects and a radiation system.
- In-game customization through
/techgunscommands: use/techguns soundto adjust audio settings and/techguns crosshair set <code>to import a shared crosshair.
Is This the Original Techguns?
Nope.
This is NOT the original Techguns mod, an official update, or an official continuation.
The original Techguns was created for older Minecraft versions. This project recreates its gameplay and systems for Minecraft 1.20.1 using modern Forge architecture, while also introducing new features and improvements.
The goal is simple: bring back the Techguns experience without being permanently stuck on Minecraft 1.12.2.
