TDbD Guildworks Custom License
Version 1.0 — 4 October 2026
Copyright (c) 2026 the respective rights holders of TDbD Guildworks,
a project of The Dawnbreak Dynasty.
All rights reserved except as expressly permitted below.
1. Scope
This license applies to versions of TDbD Guildworks expressly distributed
with this license, including project-specific code, documentation and assets,
only to the extent that the applicable rights holders (the "Licensor") own
or are authorized to license rights in those materials (the "Software").
It does not create exclusive rights in material that is not legally protected.
Third-party material and previously granted licenses are addressed below.
This is a proprietary license, not the MIT License or an open-source license.
2. Permitted use
The Licensor grants you a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to:
(a) download, install and run official, unmodified releases of the client mod
for your own gameplay;
(b) make copies reasonably necessary for installation, updates and personal
backups;
(c) read and inspect lawfully obtained source code for understanding,
troubleshooting and security review; and
(d) share links to official downloads and show the Software during ordinary
gameplay screenshots, videos and livestreams.
Keep applicable copyright and license notices with your copies.
Access to guild services still requires any applicable membership and
account authentication. This license does not guarantee access to those
services or their continued availability.
3. Rights not granted
Except as allowed by sections 2, 4, 5 or 6, or by separate written permission
from the applicable Licensor, you may not:
(a) copy or reuse protected Software code or assets in another project;
(b) modify, adapt or create derivative versions of the Software;
(c) publish, reupload, mirror, redistribute or sublicense the Software,
whether modified or unmodified;
(d) sell the Software, sell copies, or charge for access to its downloads; or
(e) use the Software to operate an independently hosted version of its guild
backend or services.
Ordinary monetized gameplay videos and livestreams permitted by section 2(d)
are not prohibited by section 3(d). This license does not restrict independently
created implementations that do not copy protected material or infringe other
applicable rights.
No permission is granted to use the project's name, branding or logos to
misrepresent another project as official, endorsed or affiliated. Truthful
identification and attribution remain permitted.
4. Authorized platforms
Nothing in this license limits rights the Licensor separately grants to a
hosting or distribution platform by uploading the Software to that platform
or accepting its terms. This includes any permissions granted through
Modrinth for hosting, downloads, and Modrinth modpack use, and any applicable
GitHub platform permissions.
Those separate platform permissions do not by themselves grant a general
right to repurpose the code or publish modified releases outside their scope.
5. Earlier releases and third-party materials
This license does not revoke, replace or narrow permissions already granted
under the MIT License or another license for earlier releases or copies.
Recipients may continue to exercise those earlier permissions for the material
they cover. This license does not make previously MIT-licensed material
exclusive merely because it appears in a later release.
Third-party code, dependencies, fonts, artwork, resource-pack content and other
materials remain governed by their applicable licenses and rights holders.
Their notices must be preserved where required. This license neither overrides
those terms nor grants rights in third-party material that the Licensor lacks.
6. Statutory rights
Nothing in this license excludes or restricts rights that applicable law does
not allow a license to exclude or restrict. This includes applicable rights
concerning necessary backup copies, observing or studying software, error
correction, and interoperability-related decompilation where legally permitted.
7. Warranty and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Software is provided "as is"
and "as available", without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy,
fitness for a particular purpose or compatibility with third-party services.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Licensor is not liable for loss
or damage arising from use of the Software. This exclusion does not apply to
liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable
liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, or
mandatory statutory liability. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
8. Additional permissions
Requests to modify, redistribute or reuse protected material should be directed
to the TDbD Guildworks project maintainer through the official project page.
Only a rights holder, or someone authorized by that rights holder, can grant
permission for the material concerned.
