TCTB Services (tctb-services)

Overview

TCTB Services is the low-level core service library for TCTB.

Due to Java's single inheritance model, and the fact that Tetra's tool capabilities rely heavily on its abstract classes, bytecode rewriting must be performed during the early launch stage so that Tetra can recognize Tinkers' Construct tools as its own modular weapons at runtime. This JAR file provides that core functionality.

Core Features

• Hooks into the low-level class-loading process (Phase.BEFORE) to rewrite bytecode before classes are loaded by the JVM.
• Transparently replaces instanceof and checkcast instructions targeting ItemModularHandheld across Tetra and third-party mod code with TCTB's bridge checks and proxy casting.
• Allows Tinkers' Construct's ModifiableItem to retain its native characteristics while seamlessly passing all of Tetra's type checks.

Installation

Requires TCTB version 1.0.2 or higher.

1. Ensure the compatible versions of Minecraft Forge, Tinkers' Construct, and Tetra are installed.
2. Place tctb-services.jar into your mods folder.
3. Place the main mod tctb-[version].jar into your mods folder as well.
4. Launch the game.

FAQ

• Q: What happens if I only install the main tctb.jar?
  A: Tool abilities and interactions will fail to trigger.

• Q: Why aren't both JARs merged into one?
  A: JARs that declare ModLauncher services cannot be loaded as standard Forge mods simultaneously.
