Description
Taskbound adds guild tasks, reputation, and rewards to Minecraft. Pick up tasks at a Task Board, complete their objectives, and return to a board to collect your rewards. Take a Task Journal with you to keep track of your progress while you're away.
What is in it?
- 180 tasks across six guilds: Hunter, Angler, Wizard, Gathering, Crafting, and Challenges.
- Five tiers per guild: 30 tasks each, ending in 12 one-time finales with more involved objectives.
- 45 timed tasks: timers count online play, pause while offline, and stop when objectives are complete.
- More ways to work: brew potions, hand in supplies, fish with specialized rods, build and activate machines, and complete combat and Trial Spawner challenges.
- Guild progression: build reputation, unlock task categories, gain more available offers, and collect level rewards.
- Task Boards: browse offers, search and filter tasks, and choose between Relaxed and Compact layouts.
- A portable journal: check active tasks, read their details, and browse each guild's levels and rewards.
- Editable content: add, remove, or change tasks, their titles and descriptions, task givers, and rewards through JSON files or datapacks.
- Choose your currency: use emeralds, automatic Numismatics spurs, or a custom item chosen by the server or modpack.
By default, you can have three active tasks. Board offers refresh every five minutes of game time, while accepted tasks keep their progress and rewards. Complete and claim tasks at a board; the journal lets you check your progress wherever you are.
Create: Numismatics
Numismatics support is built in. When it is installed, new emerald payouts use spurs by default at 1 emerald = 1 spur. You can change the automatic Spur exchange rate or turn conversion off in the server config. Numismatics is optional.
Prefer another currency? Enable custom currency and choose a registered item, such as minecraft:diamond, in the server config. Each emerald becomes one of that item, and this choice takes priority over Numismatics. Accepted tasks keep their original payout; level gifts and other item rewards stay unchanged.
For modpack and server creators
Taskbound generates editable definitions in config/taskbound/data/ on first launch. Customize the task list, guilds, rewards, progression, and limits to suit your pack. World datapacks can override these definitions.
Custom currency uses rewards.use_custom_currency_rewards and rewards.custom_currency_item in taskbound-server.toml. The default balance assumes emeralds or 1:1 spurs; a more valuable custom item keeps the same payout counts, so adjust rewards to fit your economy.
Planned updates
- A few more guilds with new mechanics.

These are plans for future updates and are not included in 1.0.0.
