Description
Tactile is a suite of mods currently in development that aims to make the world of Minecraft more immersive and player interactions more tactile.

More mods are coming soon, all in the same spirit as Tactile.

Ore has always been just a textured cube. Tactile:Ore rethinks it.
Every deposit in your world becomes a procedurally generated organic node — a cluster of real, three-dimensional fragments emerging from the rock, each one unique.
That's exactly where the whole point of procedural generation lies. Nothing is modeled by hand:
- the shape of a node depends on the type of ore it holds,
- its surface is derived directly from the texture of the item you get when mining it,
- and the game's blocky veins are reshaped on the fly into organic clusters that look like they formed naturally.
Thanks to this system, mod compatibility is automatic: whether it's plain coal or an ore from a mod it has never seen, the system generates a fitting node for it.
Then comes the actual extraction. Mine the ore directly, or dig around the node, break the fragments loose, and watch them separate from the rock and fall. Nothing teleports into your inventory — you pick up what you pried out of the stone.
Ore generation is a layer over your own world: your chunks are reinterpreted into sprawling, organic deposits shaped from your existing data. A rare ore stays rare.
Display option
An optional setting (off by default) regenerates the 2D icons of mined items, so they keep the look of what you just extracted in your inventory.
Compatibility
- Custom dimensions are fully supported.
- The mod is optimized to keep its performance impact to a minimum.
- It has been tested in a heavily modded environment to ensure plug-and-play compatibility (ATM11, The Aether, Terralith, Biomes O' Plenty, Chunky, Distant Horizons, etc.).
Save safety
The mod is compatible with existing worlds and can be safely removed with a regeneration command (/tactileore disable). A backup of your world is still recommended beforehand.
