# Alleati: Summonable Allies

**Alleati** (Italian for *allies*) adds summonable companions that work for you. The first of the series is the **Pioneer**: a miner who digs, searches, smelts, crafts his own tools and brings the loot back to you. You command him from a tabbed menu, a quick radial wheel or simply by talking to him in chat.

## Summoning the Pioneer

When you first join a world you receive the **Grimoire of the Allies**, a short illustrated book with the ritual. Lost it? `/alleati grimoire`.

Build it standing up, facing any direction, like an iron golem:

- **3 obsidian** in a column
- **1 gold block** on top
- **2 quartz blocks** on the sides (any quartz block works)

Or craft the **Pioneer's Seal** (3 obsidian + 1 gold block + 2 quartz, shapeless) and use it on a block.

Whoever places the last block becomes his owner. He arrives with a stone pickaxe, a crafting table and his own **bed**, which becomes his respawn point. You also get the **Pioneer's Manual**, a 30-page in-game guide. Dismiss him and you get back exactly what you used.

## Jobs

- **Tunnel**: any width × height × length, in any direction.
- **Quarry**: digs a rectangular pit to the depth you choose and climbs out on his own.
- **Branch mine**: main corridor with side branches every N blocks.
- **Find materials**: scans the area without lag, digs a walkable path to the nearest ore, mines the whole vein and moves on.
- **Stairs**: walkable staircase up or down to the Y level you pick.

**Also:**

- **Search tab**: every ore in the game, **modded ores included** (`c:ores/*` and `forge:ores/*`), with its icon. Pick one, choose how many and press **Bring it**: he goes down to the best Y level, mines it, smelts it and delivers it to you.
- **Queue** up to 4 jobs and save up to 6 **favourites**.
- He always deposits the loot in the **nearest chest or barrel**. No chest around? He builds one, chopping wood first if needed.

## Three ways to give orders

- **Menu** (right-click): tabs Orders, Job, Search, Queue and Him. Shift + right-click opens his backpack.
- **Quick wheel**: hold **R** while looking at him, point at an order and release.
- **Chat**: start your message with his name. Say "Crew" or "Pioneers" to talk to all of them. He listens within 128 blocks.

If something is missing he asks ("How much iron?" and you just answer "20"). He suggests the right word when you misspell a material, and offers clickable sentences when he doesn't understand.

## He manages on his own

- **Crafts his tools** with the game's real recipes (modded recipes too): pickaxes, shovels, sticks, torches, ladders, chests. He never uses your diamonds.
- **Smelts** raw iron, gold and copper with the coal he finds.
- **Chops wood only from real trees**, never from the logs of your buildings.
- **Never teleports while working**: out of a pit he climbs with ladders he crafts, or digs steps.
- **Seals lava and water** before digging, **builds bridges** over gaps, lights tunnels with torches.
- **Eats** when hurt, **retreats** to you at low health, runs from creepers.
- **Respawns at his bed with his whole backpack** if defeated.
- **Safe for your base**: never touches chests, furnaces, machines, spawners, bedrock or portals, and respects claims and spawn protection from other mods.

## HUD and notifications

- **Status panel** (top left, toggle with **H**): face, health, what he's doing, backpack, job progress and distance. It slides into a small tab when closed and pops out on its own when something important happens.
- **"Diamonds found!"** notification when he discovers a diamond vein, with how many and how far.

## Configuration

- `config/alleati-common.toml`: mining speed, reach, search radius, job distance, teleport, protections, starter pickaxe.
- `config/alleati-client.toml`: status panel, diamond notification, notification size.

## Compatibility

- Forge 61.x for Minecraft 1.21.11 (also works with Forge 61.0.8, the version OptiFine requires).
- Required on **both client and server**, single player included.
- Modded ores and recipes are picked up automatically through the common tags.

The Pioneer is the first of the **Alleati** series. New allies will come with new editions of the Grimoire.
