Submarines, Jet ski & Seascotter: A Toni Carter Aquatic Mod
Description
Three purpose-built craft for the ocean, and the whole fuel industry needed to keep them running. Nothing here is a reskinned boat: each one has its own handling, its own fuel and its own reason to build the chain that feeds it.
The submarine
Ten blocks of diesel-powered research submarine, and you ride inside it. The hull is built from separate floor, roof, wall and bulkhead panels with real window openings and translucent glazing, so the crew looks out through the glass rather than at the inside of a solid box. Long windows down both flanks, a wide bow port, and a wrap-around screen in the conning tower for the pilot.
The cabin is pressurised: while you are aboard, air is topped up every tick and the underwater overlay and fog are suppressed, so the interior stays dry and clear at any depth. Nine seats — the pilot up in the conning tower plus eight in the cabin, two abreast — and a 27-slot cargo hold that travels with the boat.
It trims to neutral buoyancy and simply holds its depth until you tell it otherwise. Sixteen buckets of diesel in the tank.
The jet ski
Two seats, a planing hull and a top speed of about 25 blocks per second — roughly 100 km/h, with the acceleration to match. A buoyancy spring keeps it riding the surface without bobbing, and the handlebars lean into the turn.
It runs on unleaded 95 petrol and nothing else. No battery, no Forge Energy, no substitutes.
The Seascotter
An electric diver propulsion scooter for getting around underwater quickly. Slot a charged Seascotter Battery into it and it draws Forge Energy straight out of the cell while you thrust; sneak-click to take the battery back out. Slightly positive buoyancy, so an idle scooter drifts up to the surface instead of sinking away from you.
Oil, diesel and unleaded 95
Oil Shale Ore generates through every overworld biome between Y -32 and Y 96, in stone and deepslate.
- Oil Shale Processor — 1 Oil Shale = 100 mB of crude oil, at 20 FE/t.
- Oil Refinery — crude oil into diesel (100 mB → 80 mB) or unleaded 95 petrol (100 mB → 60 mB), switched with a button in its own screen, at 30 FE/t.
Every tank fills and empties through a bucket slot pair, and all three fluids are real placeable fluids with working buckets. A bucket needs a full 1000 mB, which is ten Oil Shale through the processor.
Power
The Coal Generator burns any furnace fuel at 40 FE/t, buffers 50 000 FE and pushes it into neighbouring blocks or into the item in its charge slot. The Seascotter Battery holds 100 000 FE behind the standard Forge Energy item capability, so Mekanism, Simply Generators or anything else on FE can charge it just as happily as the mod's own generator.
Side configuration
Every machine screen has a button that opens a side panel: the block's six faces laid out around its front, and a tab for each channel it has — energy, fluid, items. Click a face to cycle it through off → input → output, limited to the directions that make sense there.
The configuration genuinely governs the block. The generator only pushes energy through faces set to output, pipes and hoppers only find an item handler on a configured face, and the refinery hands an input face its crude tank and an output face its product tank. That is what lets you ring a refinery with several coal generators, each one aimed at it. Faces are stored relative to the way the block points, so a machine keeps its setup if you replace it facing elsewhere.
