Street Trade 0.3.0
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Every figure of the trade is now a person from Tycoon Citizens, which becomes a required dependency (and brings Tycoon Calendar with it). Customers, suppliers, dealers, officers and launderers keep everything they do in the trade, and gain what the citizen mod gives everybody: a face of their own, a name that suits it, walking like a person, and a memory of the players they meet.
Worlds from 0.2.0 carry on. When a chunk with an old figure loads, a supplier becomes a citizen with the same trade, first name, village and every player's relationship; a dealer keeps his owner, goods, takings and cut; a launderer keeps his village and cut. Customers and officers are replaced by new ones - a customer's tastes and how often she bought from you start over.
Changed
- One person, many faces. Every figure is drawn from layered parts - skin, face, hair, clothes - instead of a handful of fixed skins, and dressed for the trade: officers in shirt and peaked cap, the chemist in a lab coat, the farmer in a flat cap, the forager in a beanie.
- Names from the region. Customers are called Kevin and Jessica, suppliers Hannes and Wiebke; first names fit the build. Titles stay translated ("Farmer Hannes", "Sergeant Weber").
- Hired, not replaced. A customer taken on with the burner phone stays the same person - same face, same name, same memory - and only changes her job.
- They walk like people. On paths rather than across fields, never off a ledge, to places worth standing at rather than random blocks; neighbours stop and talk. A supplier still stands still and looks at you while you trade.
- They remember you. A sale, a purchase, a search and a punch are remembered by the person and heard of by the neighbours.
- The seed farm's farmer is a citizen too, with a face and a name of his own on every farm.
- They talk in speech bubbles. Greetings and small talk appear above their heads for a few seconds, in each player's own language, instead of in the chat.
- Customers live a life. They have a birthday, grow older on the world calendar and one day pass away; new customers move in as before. Suppliers, dealers, officers and launderers do not age - losing one of them would take something from you.
Fixed
- Updating from 0.2.0: launderers and suppliers whose old figure was already gone held their village post for ever, so the village never got a new one - and a SkyBlock village never got a seed supplier, so there were no seeds at all. Such posts are free again.
- Desk officer of a police station: his workplace was the corner of the station's ground layer, a grass block outside the wall. He now works behind the desk in the office, also in stations built before this version.
- Dealers could be robbed by luring them into fire or lava or setting a wolf on them - only their
owner's hits were checked. Now nothing but their owner (and the void or
/kill) can hurt them, and if one dies some other way, his goods and takings go to his owner instead of onto the street. - Killing a supplier wiped the slate clean: his successor knew nobody, so a burned player was welcome again and got the first-visit gift a second time. Now the successor takes over his book: the killer is burned with him, nobody gets the gift twice, and everybody else keeps the standing they had.
Removed
- The five figures as entities of their own (
streettrade:customer, supplier, dealer, police, launderer) with their renderers and skins - the ids stay only to bring old figures over - and the four spawn eggs. For testing,/citizen spawn streettrade:<role>(roles:customer,dealer,police,launderer,supplier_seeds,supplier_spores,supplier_import,supplier_chemist).
