What's new
StreamCraft Live v0.28.6: find servers on a map, bring your friends, and say hello on the Board
Everything since 0.25.3.
StreamCraft servers can now be found from inside the game, on every Minecraft version and loader StreamCraft supports, as a list or on a world map. And you can add other StreamCraft players as friends, see when they're online, and invite them to the server you're on.
For server owners: turn on StreamCraft social
Discover, Friends and the Board are off on your server until you turn them on, so nothing changes for your players unless you want it to. To turn them on, join your server, open the StreamCraft menu and go to Settings → This server → StreamCraft social on this server. Everyone on the server sees them appear right away, with a little celebration the first time. Changed your mind? Flip it off and they're gone again for everyone, toasts included.
The switch shows for the player who activated your StreamCraft license (or your level-4 operators if
we don't know who that is). You can also use /streamcraft social on from the console, or set
social_enabled=true in config/streamcraft/config.properties. The title screen's StreamCraft
servers button always works, whatever servers decide.
Discover StreamCraft servers
Open the StreamCraft menu and pick Discover, or press StreamCraft servers on the Multiplayer screen. You'll see every StreamCraft server whose owner chose to list it. Each one says whether your game can join it. If it can, press Join, even from inside a world: StreamCraft asks once, saves your singleplayer world first if you're in one, and takes you there. If it can't, StreamCraft tells you exactly what the server needs (the Minecraft version, Fabric, NeoForge or Forge, and the StreamCraft version) and gives you the server's modpack link, the StreamCraft download and the address to copy.
Turn on Only servers I can join to hide the rest. Something wrong with a listing? Use Report.
The map
Switch Discover to Map to see where servers are based. Each pin is a server: a dot when your game can join it, a warning triangle when it needs another version. Hover a pin for the essentials, click it to open the server and join. Pins close together merge into a number; click it to zoom in, or to see the list when several servers share a city. Scroll to zoom, drag to move around, and the map wraps all the way around the world. It follows your search and filters, it's built into the mod so it works on every version, and Discover remembers whether you last used the list or the map.
Everything works from the keyboard too: Tab to the map, then the arrow keys step from server to server (each one is read out by the narrator), Enter opens it, + and - zoom and Home shows the whole world.
The map shows only the place each server's owner chose. It never shows where you are, and nothing about your location is sent: the map simply starts near the country of your game's language.
List your server
Server owners can list their server from inside the game. Join your server as an operator (permission level 4), open Discover and press List this server. Give it a name, the address players join with, and optionally a description, tags, a language and your modpack link, then Save. Only operators see this; other players never do.
StreamCraft checks that the address reaches your server, usually within a few minutes, and the
editor shows where it stands: checking, waiting for verification, or listed. Come back to
Edit listing at any time to change it, or turn off Show in Discover to unlist. Under Map
location you can put your server on the map: pick your country and, if you like, your city.
The pin is approximate (the middle of the city, or of the country) and public, and it never comes
from your server's IP address. Leave it on Not shown on the map and your server stays list-only. Listing is
off until you turn it on, and the same settings still live in config/streamcraft/config.properties
if you prefer editing the file.
StreamCraft friends
Open the StreamCraft menu and pick Friends, then Turn on StreamCraft friends. You sign in with your Minecraft account through Mojang, the same check a server does when you join. Your password and login token never leave your computer.
- Add friends by their Minecraft username, and accept or decline requests.
- Show friends when I'm online is off until you turn it on. Friends then see that you're online, and the server's name only when it's listed in Discover. Private servers never show their name or address.
- Invite friends to this server sends an invite your friends can join from their Friends page. For a server that isn't listed, StreamCraft asks you before sharing its address. Server owners can turn invites off in Edit listing.
- Block anyone at any time. They aren't told, and they can't send you requests or invites.
- The Friends item in the StreamCraft menu shows how many friend requests and invites are waiting, and a toast pops up when a new one arrives.
- There are no direct messages.
Friends are for players 13 and older, and aren't available when chat is turned off for your account.
The Board
There's now a Board in the StreamCraft menu, right under Friends: one place where every StreamCraft player can leave a message. Plan a build night, announce an event, look for people to play with, or just say hello. Reply to any post to start a conversation under it.
- Posts are short (up to 280 characters) and public to every StreamCraft player, on every version.
- Posting from a server that's listed in Discover? Leave Show <server> with this post on and your post carries the server's card, so readers can join with one click. Links and addresses aren't allowed in the text itself.
- Every post is checked automatically before it appears. Anyone can Report a post, and posts that several players report are hidden until a moderator looks. Blocking someone hides their posts and yours from each other.
- The Board item shows when someone has replied to your post, and a toast lets you know.
- Posts are deleted after 90 days. You can delete your own at any time.
The Board uses StreamCraft friends to know who's posting, so turn friends on to read and post.
Also in this update
Send feedback to Slash. The Support page is now Feedback. Write what's working, what isn't, or what you'd love to see, and it goes straight to Slash, no sign-in needed. Want to talk it through? Come say hi on the Discord.
Updated terms. StreamCraft's Terms, Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy now cover Discover, friends, the Board and Feedback. You'll be asked to read and agree again the first time you turn on your camera, screen share or mic after updating.
How it works, refreshed. The page now covers voice and the social features, and groups the privacy notes in one place.
Notifications look like StreamCraft now. Invites, friend requests, Board replies and update notices arrive as StreamCraft cards in the top right. Press the StreamCraft key while one is showing to jump straight to it, or click it while the StreamCraft menu is open. If one arrives while you're in the pause menu, it waits until you're back in the game.
Voice says when it can't connect. If the server turns voice off or its voice connection can't be reached, the Live page says Voice unavailable and the HUD shows NO VOICE, instead of saying your mic is on while nothing is being sent.
Hide my Minecraft window is now on the Live page, right under Desktop audio, instead of at the bottom of the share source list. It appears when you share an entire screen on Windows or macOS, and you can flip it while you're sharing.
Update both sides
Discover, Friends and the Board show on a server once it's on 0.28.2 and its owner turns them on. Invites, the "online on" server name and setting a map location need the server on 0.28.0 or newer too. Older servers and clients still connect.
Certified builds
Hand-tested by slash on 2026-10-04 on a Windows PC, an Apple Silicon Mac and an Arch Linux PC. On each build marked ✅: joining a server, the StreamCraft menu, turning social on (with the celebration), Discover as a list and on the map, and typing in the Feedback box. Every build was compiled and checked file by file (110 files).

"Built" files come from the same code as the tested ones, and were not hand-tested this time.
Also tested:
- Mixed versions. A 0.28.5 server with a 0.25.3 player, and a 0.25.3 server with 0.28.5 players, on Fabric 1.21.1 and NeoForge 26.2: everyone joins and stays connected, and Discover, Friends and the Board stay hidden on the older server.
- Camera and screen share from Windows, received and shown on the Mac, through StreamCraft's live service (NeoForge 26.2).
- Voice both ways between Windows and the Mac, and from Linux to Windows.
- Notifications (a friend's invite, opened with the StreamCraft key) on Fabric 1.21.1.
- The table was hand-tested on 0.28.5. What 0.28.6 adds (the updated terms prompt, the Friends page suggestion, child-safety reports, the note before inviting friends to an unlisted server, and no social features for players under 13) was re-tested on Fabric 1.21.1, and the Friends page also on 26.3.
The Intel Mac and Linux ARM files were not part of this hand-test.
