Description
This mod expands the Minecraft crafting system by allowing all stone variants to substitute for regular stone in crafting furnaces and stone tools. In vanilla, only cobblestone is accepted in these recipes, which restricts player options, particularly during early gameplay or in modded environments where diorite, granite, or andesite are more prevalent than standard stone.
The following features are introduced by this modification:
- Furnaces may now be crafted using diorite, andesite, or granite, increasing flexibility and reducing the initial resource collection required. This change eliminates the necessity to locate cobblestone solely for early ore smelting.
- Stone tools, including pickaxes, axes, shovels, hoes, and swords, can be crafted from any of these stone types. This adjustment enables immediate utilization of locally abundant resources, such as granite or andesite, rather than relegating them to trash.
- The change keeps the game balanced—tools crafted from diorite, granite, or andesite function the same as regular stone tools, so it integrates seamlessly into vanilla gameplay without breaking progression.
This small but impactful quality-of-life improvement makes survival smoother and encourages players to use blocks that are often overlooked. It’s especially handy for modpacks with challenging starts or resource-scarce environments, where every nearby material matters.
