Steamon Origin 1.0.0-beta
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
First version of Steamon Origin, a NeoOrigins addon for the Steamon SMP: three teams, nine classes and a custom picker screen. This is a beta: part of it was checked in a running game, part of it only compiled (see "Checked in a game" below).
Added
- Three permanent teams, Spark, Relic and Might, each with permanent bonuses and a starter kit.
- Nine classes built on the teams: Engineer, Agronomist and Researcher (Spark); Explorer, Relic Hunter and Paleontologist (Relic); Duelist, Warden and Tracker (Might). A tenth class, King of Wooloo, is reserved and outside the three teams.
- A custom team and class picker screen replacing the NeoOrigins one: your own skin animated per team and class, the team's Cobblemon on a pedestal, the list of bonuses, keyboard and mouse support. Escape on an unfinished pick opens a Leave the game dialog.
- A skippable story page shown before the picker, with a Story button to reopen it.
- Cobblemon bonuses: battle XP, friendship and catch rate, shiny and alpha odds near you, XP from Exp. Candies, extra berries and apricorns, rarer spawns, perfect IVs on revived fossils and hatched eggs. The full list is in the Bonuses wiki page.
- Team Spark: the effect of the Create goggles is always on, so Spark players see what goggles show without wearing any.
- Team colours in chat, the tab list and name tags.
/function steamon:checkfor operators: prints your team, class, tags, effects and the live value of every attribute the bonuses change.- Bridge advancements for FTB Quests, and sample quest chapters in
ftbquests/.
Checked in a game
- Checked on a local NeoForge 1.21.1 server: the attribute bonuses, tags and kits of the nine classes (before the last balance changes), and the shiny and alpha spawn bonus with the odds forced to 100%: every Pokemon that spawned within 40 blocks of a Relic Hunter, Researcher or Tracker was shiny (alpha for the Tracker), none without a bonus class.
- The XP and friendship callbacks ran for the right class.
Not checked in a game
- The real shiny and alpha odds and the 48 block radius.
- The Tracker, Explorer and King of Wooloo catch rate bonuses, which need a real Poke Ball throw.
- The new Cobblemon class bonuses (hatched eggs, berries, apricorns, Exp. Candies, rare spawns, fossils, Wooloo XP and friendship) and the Spark goggles effect: they compile against Cobblemon 1.8.2 and Create 6.0.10 but nobody tried them in play.
- Team Wooloo being shown only to one account, and the logo in the NeoForge mod list.
Known limits
- Egg hatching speed is not a per-player bonus, so the Engineer gets a guaranteed perfect IV on hatched Pokemon instead.
- The reserved class is hidden only by a client-side check, not enforced by the server.
- Berry bonuses go to whoever planted the bush, not whoever harvests it.
