v1.4.0 - The Warrior Pack & Wandering Spirits Update

👻 The Wandering Spirit (Alpha Rework)

  • Ghost State: Your Alpha Wolf will no longer instantly die (or get lost in unloaded chunks) when taking fatal damage! Instead, it will enter an invincible, invisible "Wandering Spirit" state.
  • Soul Tether: As a spirit, your Alpha cannot attack or be hurt. It will emit Soul particles and helplessly follow you wherever you go until you use your Bone Whistle to resurrect it back to the physical realm.
  • Instant Penalty: To maintain balance, the exact millisecond your Alpha falls in battle and becomes a spirit, all Pack Blessings are instantly stripped from your character (losing your Haste, Regeneration, and temporary Pack Hearts).

⚔️ The Warrior Wolf Hierarchy

  • New Job System: You can now build a true pack! By sneaking and right-clicking a normal tamed wolf with a Stick, you can promote it to a Warrior Wolf.
  • Stat Balancing: Warriors are strictly subordinates to the Alpha. They are hard-capped at Level 10, earn EXP at a 50% reduced rate, and only gain half the HP, Attack, and Size scaling of an Alpha per level.
  • Pack Tactics: Warrior Wolves still contribute to the Pack Tactics damage buff, but only provide half the bonus (+0.25 damage per wolf) compared to the Alpha.
  • Permadeath: Warriors are mortal. Unlike the Alpha, Warrior Wolves do not get the Wandering Spirit safety net. If a Warrior Wolf falls in battle, it dies permanently. Protect your pack!

📊 UI & QoL Improvements

  • Job Display: Clicking a wolf with a stick will now dynamically display its "Job" rank (highlighting whether you are inspecting an Alpha or a Warrior) right above its level.
  • Mounting Restrictions: Added a safeguard to prevent players from attempting to put saddles on Warrior Wolves, as they are not large enough to carry a rider.

🛠️ Bug Fixes

  • Restored Commands: Fixed an issue where the /starterwolf addxp admin command was accidentally removed from the registry during the Whistle update. You can now freely add EXP to your nearby pack members again!
  • GPS Ghost Fix: Fixed a critical bug where the server would fail to locate dead Alpha wolves. Because the new Ghost state relies on native Minecraft pet-following AI, your dead Alpha will now actively teleport to you if you get too far away, guaranteeing the Bone Whistle will always find it.
