StackWhiz
Less time moving stacks. More time building.
StackWhiz adds compact inventory controls for moving, finding and organizing items in nearby storage. Keep the items you need, protect your reserved slots and spend less time dragging stacks between inventories.
Current version: 0.1.0
What you can do
- Quick Stow: move matching items into accessible nearby storage that already contains the same item and components. Unrelated items stay in your inventory.
- Restock: top up partial stacks you already carry. Empty slots are not filled with new item types.
- Slot Locks: protect occupied or empty player inventory slots from automated transfers and sorting.
- Selected Deposit: explicitly deposit the item selected in your hotbar.
- Dump: deliberately deposit eligible inventory items; locked slots remain protected.
- Sort: consolidate and organize unlocked player inventory slots or the current supported ordinary container.
- Nearby Search: find items in accessible storage, with counts, direction and distance.
- Optional Hotbar Refill: replenish a depleted selected stack from your main inventory first. Nearby refill also requires server permission.
Installation
Requires Minecraft Java 26.3, NeoForge 26.3.0.42 and Java 25.
Place the StackWhiz JAR in the mods folder on participating clients and the NeoForge server. Use the same StackWhiz version on both sides. No additional library mod is required.
Open your inventory to use the action buttons. Hover over an icon for its tooltip. Enable lock mode, then right-click a player inventory slot; Alt + right-click also toggles a lock. Keyboard shortcuts start unassigned and can be configured in Minecraft Controls.
English and Italian are included. Settings let you adjust notifications, low-stock warnings, refill preferences and the button position. Automatic refill starts disabled.
Storage and server settings
Ordinary chests, barrels and placed shulker boxes are the initial storage scope. Nearby actions use loaded chunks and server-defined limits. Default access requires legitimate interaction reach and visibility; both halves of a double chest must be accessible.
The server controls actions, cooldowns, discovery budgets and storage policy. Machines and unfamiliar storage handlers are excluded by default. Unreviewed additional mods can disable nearby access until the operator reviews them or supplies an appropriate access integration. This is not a universal claim-protection or modpack compatibility promise.
