Lively squirrels that climb trees, hoard nuts, pick your pockets — and can become your best friend.
Squirrel Scoots adds a squirrel that behaves like the real thing: it dashes and freezes, scampers up trunks, hides on the far side of a tree when something scary shows up, hops between branches, buries nuts, chatters at its friends and, every now and then, steals the item right out of your hand.
🐿️ The Squirrel
- Six varieties: red, grey, brown, black, rare albino, and the very rare golden thief.
- Real climbing: squirrels spiral up tree trunks in quick bursts, cling to the side away from danger, peek around the bark, hop along branches, leap from tree to tree and run headfirst back down.
- Real squirrel sounds: soft chattering, the "kuk-kuk-quaa" alarm call and squeals.
- A whole life of its own: foraging, burying nuts, sleeping in the trees at night, mothers looking after babies, friendships, chase games, sheltering from rain and snow, warning calls, stuffed cheek pouches, hiccups, photobombs… and a very rare midnight squirrel party.
💰 Pickpockets!
Hold something nice near a squirrel and there's a small chance it will snatch it and bolt up the nearest tree to stash it at the top. Chase it, bribe it with a nut to get your stuff back, or watch out for the accomplice trick…
💚 Make one your pet
Feed a wild squirrel nuts until it trusts you, and it may decide to stay (a Golden Acorn works every time). Your pet:
- follows you around, or sits when you right-click it,
- wears a collar you can dye any colour,
- rides on your shoulder — sneak + right-click to pick it up,
- fetches nuts lying around and drops them at your feet,
- never pickpockets its owner (probably).
🍂 Autumn Forest
A new biome full of red and orange trees, fallen leaves and squirrels. Forests everywhere can also hide hollow trees, squirrel colonies and buried Nut Stashes full of treasure.
