Sporran loads NeoForge 1.21.1 mods on Fabric 1.21.1. It provides the NeoForge API that NeoForge mods expect and runs the original, unmodified mod jars next to your Fabric mods. Sporran adds no blocks, items or mobs of its own.
What Sporran does
- Provides the NeoForge 1.21.1 API (events, registries, capabilities, networking, config, data maps) on Fabric.
- Loads NeoForge mod jars from your
mods folder next to your Fabric mods.
- Prepares NeoForge mods once on the first start and caches the result, so later starts are fast.
- Works on client and dedicated server.
- Tested in a Fabric pack of about 400 mods, on client and server.
Installation
- Install Fabric Loader 0.19.5 or newer for Minecraft 1.21.1.
- Put these into your
mods folder: Fabric API, Fabric Language Kotlin and Sporran.
- Download the NeoForge 1.21.1 mods you want, and their dependencies, from their official pages. Put them into the same
mods folder. The CurseForge app may not let you add NeoForge files to a Fabric profile, so copy them in by hand ("Open Folder").
- Mods that use GeckoLib need GeckoLib for Fabric in the same version. The NeoForge GeckoLib is not needed.
- Install everything on both client and server.
The first start takes about 30-40 seconds longer while Sporran prepares the NeoForge mods.
Good to know
- Sporran does not include or redistribute any other mod. Always download mods from their authors' official pages and respect their licences. Some authors don't want their mods used on Fabric. Please respect that.
- Sporran is experimental. Not every NeoForge mod works. Back up your worlds.
- Do not install together with Sinytra Connector, Embeddium or Async.
- Please report problems to Sporran's issue tracker, not to the authors of the NeoForge mods you run with it. They don't support Fabric.
