Spider Artillery 1.1
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Spider Artillery 1.1
New
- **Shields block webs.** A raised shield facing the web stops it completely: no Slowness and no cobweb. Each blocked web costs the shield 1 durability (none in Creative).
- **Difficulty scaling.** World difficulty now changes how dangerous spiders are:
| | Easy | Normal | Hard |
|---|---|---|---|
| Time between shots | 4.5 s | 3 s | 2.1 s |
| Slowness | Slowness I, 1.8 s | Slowness II, 3 s | Slowness II, 4.5 s |
| Aim | Wider spread | Default | Tighter |
- **Webs pass through other spiders.** A group of spiders can all fire at you without their webs hitting each other.
Fixes
- Webs no longer permanently delete blocks. Short grass, snow layers or vines covered by a web now come back when the web disappears. If you cut the web early, the block under it still comes back.
- Webs no longer replace water or lava source blocks, underwater plants, fire, or tall two-block plants.
- Webs that were still up when you left the world now clear after you rejoin. Before, they stayed forever.
- Webs in chunks that have unloaded now clear once the chunk loads again, instead of loading the chunk to remove them.
- Permanent webs (lifetime set to 0) are now only placed in empty air, so they never destroy blocks.
Changes
- Webs now follow the `mobGriefing` gamerule. When it's off, hits still slow you, but no cobweb blocks are placed.
- The web projectile is now called "Spider Web" in-game (it was "Web").
Config
New options in `config/webspitter-common.toml`. They're added automatically, and your existing settings are kept:
- `scaleWithDifficulty` (default `true`): turns difficulty scaling on or off. When it's on, your shot cooldown, accuracy and Slowness values apply to Normal difficulty, and Easy and Hard adjust them.
- `shieldsBlockWebs` (default `true`): lets shields block webs.
- `respectMobGriefing` (default `true`): stops cobweb blocks from being placed when `mobGriefing` is off.
Updating
Replace the 1.0 jar with this one; don't keep both. Existing worlds and configs carry over. It still needs Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge 47 or newer, installed on both client and server.
