Spell Codex: Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks Addon turns Iron's spell list into a progression-driven Spell Codex, wired into Spell Actionbar. Unlock schools of magic with experience, equip scrolls to your action bar, and cast only what you've earned.

Features

Spell Codex

Open with the Spell Actionbar key (`)
School tabs discovered dynamically (Fire, Ice, Blood, Ender, and any schools other mods add)
Icon tabs using each school's focus item (hover for the name)
Browse every enabled spell; locked spells appear grayed out
Nine actionbar slots stay on screen — drag unlocked spell scrolls onto them

Unlock progression

Press + under a spell to unlock the next tier (must unlock in order: 1 → 2 → 3…)
Cost is XP equal to 30 / 40 / 50… levels (tier 1 = 30 levels worth of XP, and so on)
Creative mode unlocks are free
Progress saves with the player and survives death

Equip & cast

Click an unlocked spell to choose a tier and pick up a scroll
Place it into any Spell Actionbar slot (duplicates allowed)
Casting is gated: only the actionbar works — Iron's spell wheel, spellbooks, inventory scrolls, and swords cannot cast for players
You can only cast tiers you have unlocked

Respec

Reset all unlocks and get back 25% of the XP you spent
Invalid actionbar scrolls are cleared when you respec

How to use

Install NeoForge, Iron's Spells, Iron's Lib, Spell Actionbar, and this addon
In-game, press ` to open the Spell Codex
Earn XP, unlock spells with +, equip them to the bar, cast with your actionbar hotkeys

Compatibility

Works with addon schools/spells registered into Iron's registries — tabs and spell lists update automatically
