Spearflight | Throwable Spears

Tired of Spears being melee-only? Throw them instead! Spearflight adds charged throws, realistic spear physics, weapon recall, and 25 unique enchantments for Spears and Tridents.

Spearflight

a little more fun for your spears ♡

Ever wanted to throw your spear at something?

Well, now you can!

Spearflight lets you throw Minecraft's vanilla Spears and Tridents, with charged attacks, actual flying projectiles, recoverable weapons, and 25 enchantments to mess around with.

I wanted to keep everything feeling like Minecraft, so there's no complicated combat system, no unnecessary menus, and no flashy effects covering half your screen.

Dont get your heart pierced ♡

So, how does throwing work?

It's pretty simple! Hold G to charge your spear, then release it to throw. There's a little charge bar above your XP level so you can see when it's ready.

Your movement actually affects the throw, too! Sprinting, jumping, falling, or moving toward your target changes how your spear flies. Spears hit harder at higher impact speeds, so getting a really good throw can feel pretty rewarding.

Tridents work too, although they're balanced a little differently and keep their original throwing sound.

And don't worry, the projectiles still look like the actual vanilla weapons. I didn't want to turn them into glowing magical missiles or anything.

Your spear isn't gone forever!

When you throw a spear, it can stick into blocks or enemies. You can walk over and pick it back up, just like you'd expect.

If you hit another player or mob, the spear stays embedded. A target has to wait 30 seconds before they can remove it themselves.

But if running after your spear sounds annoying, there's a little something for that!

Recall I-III

Put Recall on your spear and you can call it right back. Just press your throw key again, or right-click its reserved slot in your inventory.

It'll fly back to you and return to its original hotbar slot. Higher levels make it return faster.

I also made sure Recall handles unloaded projectiles, dimension changes, and missing weapons, so it doesn't casually eat your favorite spear.

25 enchantments to play with ♡

Because just throwing spears sounded a little boring, I added a bunch of enchantments too!

Some make your throws stronger, some give you more control, and a few are just really fun to combine.

Combat & damage

Skewer I-III
Lets your spear pierce through up to 1, 2, or 3 mobs before stopping. It loses a little speed with every hit.

Executioner I
Deals 50% more damage to enemies that are already below 30% health. Perfect for finishing something off.

Headwind I-III
Your spear deals more damage when it's falling. The faster it's dropping, the harder it hits!

Barbed I-III
Gives enemies Wither for around 2-4 seconds after hitting them.

Blood Price I
Sacrifice 2 health for a 20% faster throw. It won't let you accidentally kill yourself, though.

Impalement I
Applies Slowness III for 4 seconds when you hit something.

Pinning I
Slows your target with Slowness II for 3 seconds.

Sundering I
Gives your target Weakness for 5 seconds.

A little bit of chaos

Chain Lightning I-III
Makes your spear's damage arc to up to 1, 2, or 3 nearby mobs, dealing 25% of the original hit's damage.

Stormcaller I
Throw your spear during a thunderstorm and it'll deal extra lightning damage, with a little lightning effect too.

Frostbite I-III
Slows enemies with Slowness I, II, or III for around 4-6 seconds.

Whirlwind I
Creates a small area attack and knocks away up to 4 nearby mobs.

Quakepoint I
Throw your spear down into the ground to damage and knock back nearby mobs. Works on up to 4 targets.

Undertow I
Pulls whatever you hit toward you. Pretty useful when something keeps running away!

Movement & trick shots

Vaulting I
Hitting a block or enemy launches you a little forward and upward.

Tether I
Instead of pulling your target toward you, this one pulls you toward your target.

Ricochet I
Lets your spear bounce off a block once and keep flying, just a little slower.

Gale Piercer I-III
Helps your spear hold its speed for longer, so you can make those satisfying long-distance throws.

Burrowing I
Your spear can pass through up to 2 dirt, sand, or leaf blocks without breaking them.

Afterimage I
Adds a soft little particle trail behind your spear while it's flying.

Bringing your spear home

Recall I-III
Lets you call your spear back whenever you want. Higher levels make it return faster.

Returning Force I
Your spear can deal 4 damage to enemies it flies through on its way back, once per target.

Recall Burst I
When your spear returns to you, it pushes nearby enemies away without dealing extra burst damage.

Dislodge I
Deals some extra damage and knocks the oldest embedded spear or trident out of your target.

Poison Tip I-III
Poisons enemies while your spear is stuck inside them, with a limit on how long the poison lasts.

Mix and match!

I didn't add any incompatibilities between the new enchantments, so you can combine them however you like.

Want a spear that pierces through enemies and calls lightning? Go for it.

Want one that bounces around and flies straight back to you? That's fine too!

There are still sensible limits on things like piercing, area damage, and chain effects, so nothing spirals into endless damage loops.
