Spatial Exhibits is a NeoForge 1.21.1 mod built around Applied Energistics 2 spatial storage. It turns spatial cells into functional museum exhibits, allowing captured areas to be displayed, preserved, inspected, and entered without simply restoring the entire region back into the world.
The mod is intended for players who enjoy museums, trophy halls, archives, preserved environments, creature collections, or highly thematic bases. It is especially suited to large modpacks where spatial storage can become more than a technical utility.
Display Projector
The Display Projector is the core of Spatial Exhibits.
Insert a compatible AE2 spatial cell and the projector will render its stored contents as a miniature exhibit above the block.
Exhibits can be adjusted directly from the projector interface, including:
- Scale
- X position
- Y position
- Z position
- Display mode
- Redstone behavior
The projector supports multiple display modes depending on how you want the exhibit to behave.
Live Loaded
The stored area remains active while being displayed.
Blocks, entities, animations, lighting, and other applicable systems continue to operate normally.
This is useful for functional exhibits, living environments, machines, farms, or anything that should continue running while on display.
Stasis
The exhibit is rendered while its entities remain frozen.
This mode is intended for museum displays where creatures or other entities should appear preserved rather than wandering around the exhibit.
Stasis with Player Entry
Entities remain frozen, but players may enter the exhibit.
This allows preserved locations to function as explorable displays while still keeping their contents under control.
Exhibit Positioning and Scaling
Spatial exhibits do not have to remain at their original size.
The projector interface allows the stored area to be scaled down and repositioned relative to the projector.
This makes it possible to display anything from a small captured room to a much larger environment within a museum space.
Position controls allow the exhibit to be shifted along all three axes so that it can be aligned precisely with surrounding architecture.
Spatial Cell Automation
Spatial cells may be inserted and extracted through normal automation systems.
The projector supports interaction with systems such as:
- Hoppers
- Pipes
- Belts
- Other compatible item-transfer systems
This allows automated galleries, rotating exhibits, storage systems, and larger museum infrastructure to be constructed without requiring constant manual interaction.
Redstone Control
Display Projectors can operate continuously or be configured to require a redstone signal.
This allows exhibits to be integrated into doors, buttons, control rooms, timed displays, or other redstone systems.
Museum Plaques
Spatial Exhibits includes a dedicated Museum Plaque block for labeling exhibits.
Plaques support multiple lines of text and are designed to fit naturally beside Display Projectors, display cases, artifacts, and other museum installations.
Text rendering supports Minecraft text colors and glow effects, allowing plaques to function as anything from simple exhibit labels to elaborate archive markers.
Containment Anchor
Some exhibits are significantly less cooperative than others.
The Containment Anchor provides local protection against mobs capable of breaking blocks.
The anchor can protect an adjustable surrounding area, making it useful for:
- Dangerous creature exhibits
- Boss displays
- Hostile mob containment
- Museum security
- Modpacks with advanced mob AI or block-breaking enemies
Its protection range can be configured directly through the block interface.
Sable / Create Aeronautics Support
Spatial Exhibits includes support for Sable sublevels used by Create Aeronautics.
This allows Display Projectors to function aboard airships and other Sable-based moving structures.
For players building mobile museums, archives, laboratories, or collection ships, exhibits can therefore travel with the structure rather than being restricted to the normal world.
Designed for Collections
Spatial Exhibits was created around one simple idea:
If you can capture a piece of the world, you should be able to display it.
Preserve a biome.
Capture a dungeon.
Display a boss arena.
Archive a historic build.
Construct a gallery of dangerous creatures.
Turn an airship into a traveling museum.
Or simply create a room filled with places worth remembering.
Requirements
Spatial Exhibits currently targets:
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- NeoForge
- Applied Energistics 2
Additional mods may be required for specific compatibility features such as Sable sublevels.
Compatibility
Spatial Exhibits is designed to work alongside existing Minecraft and modded content rather than replacing it.
Stored areas may contain normal blocks, modded blocks, entities, lighting, and other content supported by AE2 spatial storage.
Compatibility with every possible mod combination cannot be guaranteed, particularly where another mod uses unusual rendering, dimension, entity, or contraption systems.
Feedback and Bug Reports
If you encounter a rendering issue, compatibility problem, or unexpected behavior, please include:
- Minecraft version
- NeoForge version
- Spatial Exhibits version
- AE2 version
- Relevant installed mods
- Steps required to reproduce the issue

Detailed reports make considerably better debugging material than the traditional ritual of writing "it broke" and vanishing into the Immaterium.
