In this image, I am alive and haven’t eaten any Soul Apple yet.

Since I hadn’t eaten any Soul Apple, dying made me lose the apples in my inventory. It could have been any item: by default, the mod randomly deletes one full inventory slot, whether it holds 1 item or a 64-stack.

You can buy them from the Wandering Trader. Also, by default, monsters have a percentage chance to drop them when killed.

By doing this, you gain 1 life. This life is used to pay for your death instead of deleting an item from your inventory.

See! I didn’t lose any items as punishment. The life I had was used instead.

Since v2.1.0 by default, the mod is compatible with Traveler’s Backpack and Sophisticated Backpacks, preventing them from being selected by the system and deleted after the death without lives.

By default, several items cannot be deleted by the mod’s system, such as Netherite items, Elytra, and more. You can configure all of this and much more through the mod’s .toml file, generated in the Config folder.
