What's new
Simple Voice Chat integration
Requires Simple Voice Chat (version 2.5 or newer). All voice-related features only work with this mod. Other voice chat mods (e.g. Plasmo Voice) are not supported. Echolocation works fine without it; you just won’t get the voice features.
- Speaking players light up. While a player talks, their silhouette flashes and a small echo spreads from them. Louder voices reach further, and whispering gives a small radius.
- Your own voice is echolocation too. Talking reveals the area around you.
- New “Voice chat” settings tab (Settings → Voice chat…), containing:
- toggles for Other players’ voices and Own voice;
- Voice glow slider: brightness of voice reveals;
- Voice density slider: point density of voice reveals;
- a status line showing whether Simple Voice Chat is detected.
- Voice features work independently of the Passive echo setting.
Pulse sound
- The sonar pulse now makes a sound. The default is the sculk sensor click.
- Other choices: Amethyst, Bell, Resonate or Off, with a separate volume slider.
- If the mod is also installed on the server, nearby players hear your pulse, and their passive echolocation reveals you.
Ore highlight
- New Ore highlight toggle, on by default.
- Ores show more points and a faint warm tint, so you can find them while blind without them glowing.
- Works with all vanilla ores (including Nether gold and ancient debris) and modded ores that use the
forge:orestag. - Only exposed ore faces are revealed. Nothing shows through stone.
Mob visibility fixes
- Mobs hidden behind walls now only counts solid blocks. Grass, flowers, leaves and glass no longer hide mobs, which made low mobs like spiders hard or impossible to see.
- Mobs standing on or against blocks no longer partly sink into the terrain.
Bug fixes
- Fixed a crash when dragging settings sliders. The config file was being written on every mouse movement.
Notes
- The network protocol changed. If you play on a server, both the server and all players need this version.
- Some settings were reorganized. Voice echo and Own voice echo moved to a new
[voice]config section and reset to their defaults (on) once.
