This mod will need Geckolib 1.18.2!

With nine variations of blue tongue skinks to find and tame, this mod is perfect for all skink lovers! All species have color variants, can be bred, healed and tamed using various invertebrates and plants found within the world! Although some skinks may need specific kinds of foods in order to be convinced to be your companion.

NO This mod will not be updated to other MC versions. I have other projects to work on, so it will stay at 1.18.2.

Plants:

Lilly Pilly Tree (includes new wood structures like stairs, doors, fences, etc...): spawns in warm forests like oak forest, dark forest, flower forest and other mixed forests.

Invertebrates:

Locust, Roaches and Earthworms: All items. Locust and roaches drop from grass and fern blocks AND are edible and cookable. Earthworms drop from sand and dirt blocks. All have 5% chance of dropping from listed blocks.

Mole Cricket: mob that spawns in warm and dry biomes like savannas, deserts, oak forest, flower forest, etc... Drops items that are edible and cookable. Exhibits digging and chirping behavior, can be bred using vanilla grass and ferns. Plant eggs into dirt, gravel or sand to hatch.

Land Snail: mob that spawns in all warm and dry biomes. Drops items that are edible. Exhibits hiding and climbing behavior, can be bred using any vanilla flower item. Place eggs anywhere to hatch.

Atlas Beetle: mob that spawns in all tropical biomes like jungle forest, sparse jungle and bamboo forest. Exhibits flying behavior and fighting behavior between males, can be bred using jungle leaves or papaya leaves. Plant eggs into jungle or papaya wood to hatch.

Skinks:

ALL skinks exhibit defensive behavior towards any mob larger than themselves. All will sleep at night and wander during the day. Despite defensive posture, they will take food to be bred or tamed.

ALL tamed skinks can be ordered to follow, sit, wander or cling to it's owners back (only one skink at a time, crouch + right click to grab skink, press r to drop skink). They will also sleep at night if allowed to wander, and will go into the defense of their owners if they are attacked or they attack something else. Regardless of defensiveness, skinks will teleport after their owners if ordered to follow. Most vanilla tamed animals will concidered safe by tamed skinks, apart from horses, donkeys and mules. Hint: make a skink sit, then pick them up before riding a horse, that way the skink will not attack the horse while riding.

Anti-phantom effect. By their mere presence, skinks will ward off phantoms if the player is close enough to a skink. This is based off of the irl behavior of skink's blue tongues showing much more vibrantly to bird's vision in order to scare them off.

Jukebox Dances! All skinks will have unique dances for jukebox music. Skinks become so invested in their dancing they will need to be pulled away or have their music turned off!

Blue tongue skinks are live birthers! Babies will need to be tamed after being born from both wild and tamed parents. Babies will also inherit one parent's color variant.

No skink species will take cooked food!

Clinging effects! All skinks will have unique effects given to the player ONLY when they are picked up. Use these effect to aid in your adventures!

Northern Blue Tongue Skink: spawns in warm and dry biomes, oak forest, flower forest, dark forest, groves, plains, savannas, meadows and sunflower plains. Tamed with warrigal leaf, lilly pilly berries, locust, roach, earthworm, mole cricket or land snail. Bred/Healed using mole cricket, atlas beetle or land snail.

- Cling Effect: Attacked monsters will freeze in place for a moment.

Eastern Blue Tongue Skink: spawns in warm and dry biomes, oak forest, flower forest, dark forest, groves, plains, savannas, meadows and sunflower plains. Tamed with warrigal leaf, lilly pilly berries, locust, roach, earthworm, mole cricket or land snail. Bred/Healed using mole cricket, atlas beetle or land snail.

- Cling Effect: The player will recieve night vision.

Western Blue Tongue Skink: spawns in warm and dry biomes, oak forest, flower forest, dark forest, groves, plains, savannas, meadows and sunflower plains. Tamed with warrigal leaf, lilly pilly berries, locust, roach, earthworm, mole cricket or land snail. Bred/Healed using mole cricket, atlas beetle or land snail.

- Cling Effect: Attacked monsters will be given slowness.

Central Blue Tongue Skink: spawns in dry biomes, badlands, wooded badlands, desert and savanna. Tamed with warrigal leaf, lilly pilly berries, locust, roach, earthworm, mole cricket or land snail. Bred/Healed using mole cricket, atlas beetle or land snail.

- Cling Effect: Every food item gives the player extra hunger bars.

Blotched Blue Tongue Skink: spawns in warm and dry biomes, oak forest, flower forest, dark forest, groves, plains, savannas, meadows and sunflower plains. Tamed with warrigal leaf, lilly pilly berries, locust, roach, earthworm, mole cricket or land snail. Bred/Healed using mole cricket, atlas beetle or land snail.

- Cling Effect: Every food item gives the player extra saturation (food drains slower).

Bobtail Blue Tongue Skink: spawns in warm and dry biomes, oak forest, flower forest, dark forest, groves, plains, savannas, meadows and sunflower plains. Tamed with warrigal leaf, lilly pilly berries, locust, roach, earthworm, mole cricket or land snail. Bred/Healed using mole cricket, atlas beetle or land snail.

- Cling Effect: The player will recieve extra armor points.

Halmahera Blue Tongue Skink: spawns in tropical biomes, jungle, sparse jungle, bamboo jungle. Tamed with papaya leaf, papaya fruit pieces, locust, roach, earthworm, atlas beetle or land snail. Bred/Healed using mole cricket, atlas beetle or land snail.

- Cling Effect: The player will recieve extra jump boost and lessened fall damage

Merauke Blue Tongue Skink: spawns in tropical biomes, jungle, sparse jungle, bamboo jungle. Tamed with papaya leaf, papaya fruit pieces, locust, roach, earthworm, atlas beetle or land snail. Bred/Healed using mole cricket, atlas beetle or land snail.

- Cling Effect: The player will recieve extra damage points.

Irian Jaya Blue Tongue Skink: spawns in tropical biomes, jungle, sparse jungle, bamboo jungle. Tamed with papaya leaf, papaya fruit pieces, locust, roach, earthworm, atlas beetle or land snail. Bred/Healed using mole cricket, atlas beetle or land snail.

- Cling Effect: The player will recieve extra speed.

Skink Accessories:

Clothe and accessorize your skinks using the accessory box! This item is a travel-sized crafting item used to both make accessories for your skink and add them to your skink's inventory.

Future Updates!

TLC And Fixes: Optomize skink animation system so it stops breaking when the game is being slow (fixed?). Stop Mole Crickets from falling into "solid" blocks if it's original block is broken (should only be able to fall into sand, gravel and dirt). Fix occassional bug with player's tamed skinks going invisible in other player's view within a few blocks.

Multiplayer is currently only tested on Apex Hosting servers, only works on latest 3 updates.
