Small Ships Shutdown Compatibility

An original companion patch for the Small Ships 2.0.2 configuration lifecycle. It prevents the disk-file migration listener from running for unloaded or network-synchronized configurations that have no local file path. File-backed loading and reloading still run the original migration.

Requirements

• Minecraft Java 1.21.1 and Java 21
• NeoForge 21.1.228 or later; the pack-tested build is 21.1.265
• Small Ships exactly 2.0.2

Install this companion beside the unmodified Small Ships JAR on client and server. It adds no ship content and changes no recipes, physics, permissions or world data. No additional runtime library is introduced.

Verification and scope

Tests exercise actual NeoForge configuration and event classes: unloaded configuration is skipped, file-backed loading/reloading is preserved, and synchronized incoming values remain unchanged. The complete Bears & Friends client has also started and connected to its matching dedicated server with this patch. This is not a claim that every ship interaction or upstream release is tested. Recheck compatibility before upgrading Small Ships.

License

Original companion code is MIT-licensed. Small Ships is a separate upstream dependency; its original JAR and license remain unchanged. This is an unofficial compatibility project with no upstream endorsement.
