Slabbed 0.4.2-beta.1 for Minecraft 26.2

Forward-port of the 26.1.2 build to Minecraft 26.2, plus a crosshair-targeting overhaul.

Highlights

  • Crosshair targeting overhaul. Replaced the legacy post-hoc retarget with SlabbedOffsetRaycast, an offset-aware nearest-hit block raycast. Crosshair, selection outline, [slabdy] HUD, pick owner, and placement face now agree much more reliably.
  • Opposite-side slab placement on -1.0 compounds fixed. Clicking the side face of a compound column no longer places the slab on the opposite side.
  • First shipped Slabbed build with the new targeting architecture. This is a real step forward over the 1.21.1, 1.21.11, and 26.1.2 lines.
  • Stairs & Scaffolding are Slabbed-compatible for the first time! You can now ascend stairs placed on slabs, as long as you start at the same height that the stairs are placed on. You can also easily ascend scaffolding--previously, scaffolding acted like a solid block.

Fixed and live-confirmed

  • Holding a slab no longer causes the old targeting failures like displaced outlines, target: none, or wrong-block selection from the legacy targeting path.
  • Crosshair-visible owner and actual placement target now line up much more consistently.
  • Opposite-side compound placement regression is fixed.

Testing

  • Headless gametest net at 136 checks
  • Includes dy fingerprint coverage, compound placement checks, cantilever cases, and targeting-related placement coverage
  • Live-tested and confirmed before release

Known issues

  • On-top placement flicker: placing on top of a deeply lowered (-1.0) stack can briefly render one step lower before settling at the correct final height.
  • Deep mixed-offset gaps: some stacks with mixed offsets can still show visible gaps. This is part of the deferred slab-combining work.

Notes

  • Built for Fabric
