Sky Above, Voice Within

Sky Above, Voice Within aims to bring the power of Skyrim’s iconic Shout system to Minecraft.

This mod introduces the ability for players to use powerful Shouts inspired by The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Each Shout is made up of three Words of Power. Players can discover Word Walls hidden throughout the world and meditate on the words to learn them. As more words of a Shout are unlocked, the ability becomes stronger and gains additional effects.

Shouts are activated through a dedicated keybind (Z), with a separate keybind to open the Shout selection menu (V). Timing matters—holding the shout key longer will use more words (if available), increasing the shout’s power and its cooldown.

Examples of currently implemented features include:

• A multitude of Shouts including but not limited to Unrelenting Force, Become Ethereal, Storm Call and Fire Breath. Shouts are dimension-locked, meaning each Shout can only be unlocked by a Word Wall within a specific Dimension.
• Multiple different Word Wall structure variations: 4 for the Overworld and 1 each for the Nether and End.
• A proof of concept Shout Selection Menu, as well as commands that allow you to unlock Words of Power for specific shouts in case you want to play around.

Shout mechanics are fully independent and implemented with performance in mind. The system is built to be extensible for future Shouts and mod integrations.

Word Walls currently generate as underground structures, with variants based on biome or age, such as mossy or sculk-infested ruins. Additional features and Shouts are planned for future updates.

This mod is designed for players who enjoy exploration, immersion, and tactical combat options.
