Scythe Mod Update

A major scythe-focused update: a new Golden Scythe, new enchantments, improved scythe combat behavior, new advancements, and balance changes for Withering and Toxic Scythes.

Added

New Golden Scythe

Added a new scythe built around luck, gold, and improved loot.

Passive Ability — “Favor of the Goddess of Luck”

The Golden Scythe passively improves loot and interacts with Piglins like a golden item.

  • Adds +1 level to Looting while held in either hand.
  • Piglins become neutral while the Golden Scythe is held.
  • The bonus does not stack with other Golden Scythes.
  • Works from both main hand and offhand.

Special Ability — “Midas Touch”

Activated by right-clicking.

  • Cooldown: 40 seconds.
  • Cost: 50 durability.
  • Deals 50% of the target’s max health as damage.
  • Damage is limited to a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 100.
  • If the target dies from the ability, it drops loot as if killed with +2 additional Looting levels.
  • If the target survives, it receives a golden mark.
  • A marked target will still drop improved loot when it dies later.
  • The bonus stacks with normal Looting and the Golden Scythe passive bonus.

Example:

  • Looting III on the scythe
  • +1 from the Golden Scythe passive
  • +2 from the golden mark

Total: Looting VI for that kill.

Active Ability — “Golden Rain”

Activated with the scythe active ability key.

  • Cooldown: 2.5 minutes.
  • Cost: 200 durability.
  • Marks all enemies in a 20-block radius.
  • Marked enemies drop loot with +2 additional Looting levels when killed.
  • Uses the same golden mark mechanic as Midas Touch.

New Golden Essence

Added Golden Essence as the crafting material for the Golden Scythe.

  • Used in the Golden Scythe recipe.
  • Follows the same general structure as other scythe essences.

New Enchantments

“Additional Slot”

A new enchantment for the Withering Scythe.

  • Only works on the Withering Scythe.
  • Increases the maximum number of Withering Skeleton minions.

Levels:

  • Level I: +1 minion.
  • Level II: +2 minions.
  • Level III: +4 minions.

“Soul Siphon”

A new enchantment for the Withering Scythe.

  • Only works on the Withering Scythe.
  • Has 1 level.
  • Gives a 50% chance to gain double souls from a kill.
  • Works with the Withering Scythe soul-gathering mechanic.

“Acidity”

A new enchantment for the Toxic Scythe.

  • Only works on the Toxic Scythe.
  • Increases armor damage caused by Toxic Scythe abilities.

Levels:

  • Level I: +11% armor damage.
  • Level II: +22% armor damage.
  • Level III: +33% armor damage.

Affects Toxic Scythe armor damage from:

  • Passive attacks.
  • Toxic Orb.
  • Toxic Aura.

New Advancements

Added new advancements related to the Golden Scythe and scythe progression.

“Better Than a Horseshoe”

“Three Days of Rain”

A new Golden Scythe advancement.

  • Obtained by activating Golden Rain in 3 different dimensions.
  • Each activation must also happen on a different in-game day.
  • Progress is saved between sessions.

Changed

Withering Scythe Balance

The Withering Scythe’s base minion limit was reduced.

  • Base Withering Skeleton minion limit reduced to 6.
  • The new “Additional Slot” enchantment can increase this limit.
