Singleplayer Trash
A temporary trash menu for Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47.4.6-47.x and Java 17.
Local singleplayer only
Install in your client instance. Only a local singleplayer world NOT opened to LAN is supported. Remote servers, LAN sessions, spectators, dead players and stale or unsafe menus are rejected. Do not install as a dedicated-server utility.
How it works
- In the survival inventory, use the trash entry at the panel's lower-right edge. It hides when detected widgets, slots, a visible TrashSlot rectangle or screen boundaries leave no safe position.
- In creative mode, it replaces the vanilla destroy slot only on the Survival Inventory tab. Category and search tabs have no entry. Clicking opens this mod's menu instead of deleting the cursor stack; vanilla destroy-slot click and Shift-click clearing are intercepted.
- Opening requires an empty cursor on both client and integrated-server checks. Put down any held stack first; occupied-cursor opening is rejected without deleting it.
- The menu has 36 temporary slots (4 x 9). Items can be retrieved while it remains open. CLOSING PERMANENTLY DESTROYS ALL ITEMS LEFT INSIDE. There is no undo, persistent storage or confirmation dialog.
- Cursor items at close follow vanilla return-to-inventory or drop-if-needed handling, separately from clearing the trash container. Inventory changes use the integrated server and vanilla menu synchronization.
Optional integrations and limits
JEI 15.20.0.116 and EMI 1.1.24+1.20.1+forge are optional, not bundled or required. Plugins request survival-inventory exclusion rectangles, not full creative-viewer integration. TrashSlot 15.1.0 is not bundled; a reflective read-only visible-rectangle lookup avoids its survival entry, with conservative hiding on lookup failure. Arbitrary non-widget overlays are not guaranteed to be detected. Public preparation verified compilation/reobfuscation, pure Java placement and eligibility tests, and static resource/license/archive checks. Final viewer plugin discovery, mouse priority, all GUI scales, arbitrary modpacks and death/disconnection paths were not runtime-tested in this preparation.
