To start in the blacksmith mod you will need to have the forge to start creating platinum ingots for armor and swords
To obtain the forge you will need to trade with level 3 weapon villagers
Once with the blacksmith book you can craft the forge
To start down the blacksmithing path, you will need to use the forge to create the platinum.
when you have the materials in the forge just press the hammer and there would be the platinum
