A mod originally made for my friends who wanted to have some dwarves in minecraft.
Note that balance was not the main goal of this mod, and with a good setup it can be exploited for very powerful gear.
Provides an item sink for lots of emeralds and other ores.
Best for those who want a bit silly, but still kinda immersive dwarves.
You need at least Forge version 47.4 for this mod to work.
Brief summary:
- Adds 5 custom dwarf NPC types, each with their own goals and behaviour,
- Adds a new structure type - the Dwarven Mining Outpost - in which the dwarves spawn and live,
- Adds a new material - Dwarven Steel, obtainable only from dwarves
- Adds a new tier of equipment above nethrite - dwarven steel weapons and armour
- Adds 2 new food sources: Ale and Dwarven Ale
- Adds a new villager profession: the Smuggler
Full Feature Description:
THE DWARVES:
Dwarves are neutral creatures. They will not pay special attention to the player unless he's bartering or holding a mug of Dwarven Ale. Every dwarf will be willing to barter with the player, and occasionally with themselves, with a small chance of high-end items. Note that every dwarf has cooldown between his barters.
If killed dwarves drop a Vengeful Soul and their class-specific loot. But are very tanky, can deal a lot of damage, and one hurt dwarf will alert all nearby - they are definately late game enemies!
1) Blacksmith - he, who forges

- Accepts 5 identical ingots for barter, and as a reward gives an enchanted tool made from given material. Sometimes enchantments can be higher than minecraft normally allows.
- A resilient, but not very well - armored opponent with speed of 0.35
- With every swing of his hammer deals 5 damage and knocks enemies back 3 blocks, applying a custom Broken Bones effect for 3 seconds on hit - hoping to slow down and desorient the attacker, allowing defenders to finish them off.
- When killed drops a Vengeful Soul and a single random tool, with a 9% chance of dropping a Dwarven Steel Ingot and 1% chance of dropping a Dwarven Steel Block
2) Defender - he, who fights

- Does not barter
- The strongest in battle, but also the slowest
- Attacks nearby mobs
- Has 300Hp and high armor toughness
- Deals 8 damage per hit, but with practically no knockback
- Is very knockback resistant
- Speed of 0.3 makes him easy to outrun... just dont get cornered!
- Hits haaard. Two defenders can defeat a Warden.
- When killed has followng chances to drop:guaranteed Vengeful Soul, 95% fo 1 - 5 Dwarven Steel Ingots + 10% Dwarven Steel Armor Piece / Netherite Armor Piece + 10% Netherite Sword or Axe
3) Brewer - he, who supports

- When given an Iron Ingot - gives 1 Dwarven Ale
- When given a Gold Ingot - gives 8 mugs of Dwarven Ale
- When given a Diamond - gives 1 Brewer's Essence
- When given an Emerald - gives 5 Brewer's Essence
- When given a Netherite Ingot - gives 10 Brewer's Essence
- Wanders around the settlement and buffs his fellow dwarves by giving them Brewer's Essence - item details later.
- In battle also stays back and buffs other dwarves with Brewers Essence. Will not the attack player directly.
- When killed drops a Vengeful Soul
4) Miner - he, who yearns

- Gems are his only purpose - he will not fight
- Digs long winding tunnels, leaves some ores for the player to find and collect
- Can break almost every block underground
- Will trade any ore for a different random ore, or ingots for a different random type of ingot. Can be given up to a stack of items at once, will always give back the same amount as was given to him.
- When killed drops a Vengeful Soul and between 45 - 140 of any random ore, with 15% chance for 1 - 3 dwarven steel ingots
5) Armorer - he, who exists

- The most popular dwarven class
- Will trade any single armor piece for a different random enchanted armor piece one tier lower than given
- The weakest in terms of health, armor and damage
- When killed drops a Vengeful Soul and a single random piece of armor

Each building spawns a number of its corresponding dwarf class - Blackmiths will be found in the Forge, Miners will be digging tunnels extending the entrance, Brewers will lurk nearby the Storage area, Armorers will be in their homes, and the Defenders can spawn anywhere
ITEMS, BLOCKS & OTHER:
Dwarven Steel:
- Dwarven Steel tools are more durable, faster, and more enchantable than netherite
- Dwarven Steel armor provides better protection, is more durable and more enchantable than netherite
- The switch from Netherite to Dwarven Steel is proprtionally a bit more than the switch from Diamond to Netherite
- For the ultimate flex, Dwarven Steel Ingots can be crafted into a Dwarven steel block.

Ale:
- Gives 5 nutrition and 0.5 saturation when drunk
- Has 10% chance to give Hunger, and 15% chance to give Regeneration (% are for each effect seperately, you can get both) for 5 seconds
- Right-clicking with an Ale on a Dwarf heals him (and consumes the Ale)

Dwarven Ale - Gives 6 nutrition and 2.5 saturation when drunk
- It's a sthrengthening drink, but but not made for mere mortal men. As such it has following chances to give each of theese effects:
- 30% Hunger, 20% Regeneration, 35% Nausea, 50% Luck, 10% Saturation, 25% Strength, 25% Resistance, 15% Absorption.
- Time of theese effects ranges from 5 to ~30 seconds
- As with Ale, the % is for each individual effects. you can, and will, get multiple.
- Can be used for breeding two dwarves of the same class
![]()
Brewer's Essence
- Obtainable only through the Brewer
- Snowball-ish item that upon hitting a creature (or a fellow player) gives it a random positive effect (with 5% chance for a negative one, better don't overdose)
- Dwarven Gods do not like when their power is abused - with each hit there's a 1% chance the target will be smitten by lightning
- Positive effects available: Health Boost, Resistance, Regeneration, Strength, Speed, Haste, Jump Boost, Absorption, Regeneration
- Negative effects available: Hunger, Nausea, Levitation, Hunger
- Hit creature will always gain just 1 effect per hit (of course hou can hit them multiple times...)

Broken Bones Effect:
- Slows player's movement by 90% per each amplifier level
![]()
Vengeful Soul:
- Guranteed drop from every dwarf, can be used to craft a Heart of Stone

Heart of Stone
- When placed on top of two smooth stone blocks it will make a random dwarf spawn (like a snow golem)
- Can be "refined" into a Blacksmith's, Defender's, of Miner's
- Refined hearts will spawn their specific type of dwarf when used the same way a normal Heart of Stone would be.
- To refine a Heart one must, in a crafting table, combine the heart with the appropriate item made of Dwarven Steel: Defender - chestplate, Blacksmist - anvil (vanilla), Miner - pickaxe
- Can be placed as decoration

Smuggler's Refuge
- A villager point of interest, made from remains of a slain dwarf and dwarven materials.
- To craft - a heart of stone needs to be surrounded by 8 Dwarven Steel Ingots

Smuggler
- A Villager Profession, with the Smuggler's Refuge as the point of interest
- On every level allows to buy increasingly better dwarf-related gear
- First Ale, then ingots, then books enchanted above vanilla limit, then perhaps an enchanted golden apple, then finally netherite and dwarven steel
- Has got a lot of potential powerful trades, so it's wort having multiple
- He has really high prices (after all, smuggling from the dwarves is a dangerous job!)

Future Plans:
- More dwarven buildings and structures
- More dwarven entities (Warforged?)
- More alcohol types
- More custom tools & blocks
- Other fantasy cultures...?
Will you trade with the dwarves and nurture their communities, or will you raid their towns for resources? The choice is yours. Good luck, adventurer.
