SUMMARY (not part of the license; the terms below are what count)

  YES  Use it, play with it, put it on any server, including a monetised one.
  YES  Put it in a modpack — public or private — without asking first.
  YES  Modify your own copy, as long as you keep that copy to yourself.
  YES  Write an addon or a compatibility patch for it.

  NO   Re-upload it anywhere on its own, outside a modpack.
  NO   Distribute a modified version of it.
  NO   Reuse its code, assets or translations in another project.
  NO   Put its download behind a paywall or a link shortener.

  Modpack authors: this section, plus section 2(c), is the permission you need.

1. DEFINITIONS

   "The Mod" means the Simple Craft Editor software, in source or compiled form,
   together with its assets, textures, translations and documentation.

   "Official Release" means a build of The Mod published by the copyright holder
   through a channel they control.

   "Modpack" means a curated collection of Minecraft mods distributed for use as
   a single configured installation, whether public or private, free or paid,
   and whether hosted on a platform such as CurseForge or Modrinth, distributed
   by a launcher, or shared privately.

   "Standalone" means distributed on its own, rather than as one component of a
   Modpack.

2. PERMITTED USE

   You may:

   a) Download, install and use The Mod for personal or commercial play,
      including on a public or private server, and including a server that
      accepts donations, sells ranks, or is otherwise monetised.

   b) Modify your own copy of The Mod for your own use, and use that modified
      copy privately or on your own server, provided you do not distribute it.
      See 3(a).

   c) Include an unmodified Official Release of The Mod in any Modpack, public
      or private, and distribute that Modpack, without asking permission and
      without paying a fee. If the Modpack is distributed publicly, credit The
      Mod by name and include a link to one of its official pages.

   d) Write a separate mod, addon, patch or datapack that depends on, extends or
      interoperates with The Mod, and distribute that work under any license you
      choose, provided it does not include The Mod or any part of it. Calling
      The Mod's code, and depending on its behaviour, is not itself a derivative
      work for the purposes of this license.

   e) Decompile, inspect or study The Mod for personal study, for debugging, or
      to make a separate work compatible with it.

   f) Reference The Mod by name, link to its official pages, and show it in
      videos, screenshots, reviews and other coverage, monetised or not.

3. RESTRICTIONS

   You may not:

   a) Distribute a modified version of The Mod, or a work derived from it, in
      any form. Private modification is permitted under 2(b); it is the
      distribution that is prohibited.

   b) Distribute The Mod Standalone, on any download site, mirror, repository or
      file host. This includes re-uploading an unmodified Official Release.
      Links to The Mod must point to an official page.

   c) Extract, reuse or redistribute The Mod's source code, assets, textures or
      translations in another project. This does not restrict 2(d).

   d) Remove or alter this license, the copyright notice, or the authorship
      information in The Mod or its metadata.

   e) Place an Official Release behind a paywall, a link shortener, an ad gate,
      or any other scheme that monetises access to the download itself. This
      does not restrict 2(a) or 2(f).

   f) Use The Mod, or any part of it, as part of a dataset for training machine
      learning or artificial intelligence models.

4. CONTRIBUTIONS

   By submitting a contribution to this project, you grant the copyright holder
   a perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use, modify,
   sublicense and distribute that contribution as part of The Mod, under this
   license or any later license the copyright holder chooses. You keep your own
   copyright in your contribution.

5. RELATIONSHIP TO MINECRAFT

   The Mod is a modification for Minecraft and is subject to Mojang's End User
   License Agreement and Brand Guidelines. Nothing in this license grants any
   right in Minecraft itself, and nothing here permits what Mojang's terms
   forbid — including the sale of The Mod, which neither you nor the copyright
   holder may do.

   The Mod is not an official Minecraft product. It is not approved by or
   associated with Mojang or Microsoft.

6. PERMISSION BEYOND THIS LICENSE

   Any use not permitted above may still be allowed with the written permission
   of the copyright holder. If you want to do something this license does not

7. VERSIONS OF THIS LICENSE

   The copyright holder may publish revised versions of this license. Each
   Official Release is governed by the version of this license distributed with
   it, and a later version does not retroactively change the terms of a release
   already published.

8. NO WARRANTY

   THE MOD IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR
   IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY,
   FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE
   COPYRIGHT HOLDER BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER
   IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN
   CONNECTION WITH THE MOD OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE MOD.
