Silver Screen brings real video to Minecraft. Place a screen, paste a link, and everyone nearby watches together, perfectly in sync.
Features
- Videos, live streams and images on placeable screens of any size
- Server-synced playback: every player sees the same frame at the same time
- Remote control to manage screens from a distance
- Media cards: store one video per card and play it with a right-click
- Playlist cartridges: carry a whole playlist and load it into any screen
- Redstone controller with comparator output for builds and contraptions
- No VLC, no WaterMedia: ffmpeg and yt-dlp download automatically on first use
- Server controls: allowed domains whitelist, edit permissions and remote range
- Lightweight: screens outside render distance don't decode anything, and only the closest screens play
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge
- Install on both client and server
Good to know
On first use the client downloads ffmpeg (ffmpeg-static GitHub releases) and yt-dlp (yt-dlp GitHub releases) into config/starlight/bin. Custom binary paths can be set in the config.
