Shimmerstep is a client-focused Minecraft navigation mod inspired by the feeling of magical ambient guidance trails in adventure games. As you explore, the mod records sparse points along your recent route and will render soft, fading sparkles that make it easy to glance around and retrace your steps through caves, forests, structures, and unfamiliar terrain.
Nothing is placed in the world. The trail is visual, temporary, dimension-aware, and intended to feel like part of the environment rather than a minimap drawn into 3D space.
Development Status
- Shimmerstep is currently in BETA, and there are Beta builds available to download though these are not typically release-ready.
