Shears Disables Tripwires/String Again

This mod allows you to duplicate string by disabling tripwires with shears again. Forge has disabled this by default, and this mod restores the functionality.

IMPORTANT

Players should be facing SOUTH when building tripwire setups! I (The author) has found that this is the only direction that consistently works with this mod.

Version 1.0.0 - For Minecraft 1.21.1 (Forge 52.1.0)

  • Initial release for Minecraft 1.21.1
  • Allows players to disarm tripwires with shears by shift-left-clicking
  • Prevents breaking of disarmed tripwires to make string dupers possible again

How to Use

  1. Craft shears (2 iron ingots in a diagonal pattern)
  2. Hold shift and left-click on a tripwire with the shears
  3. The tripwire will be disarmed but the string remains in place
  4. This is useful for creating string dupers and other redstone contraptions

Known Issues

  • Only works consistently when tripwires are built facing south
  • May not work properly in multiplayer environments if server and client versions don't match
