This is the alpha version.
Shattered Meridian Core is the heart of the Shattered Meridian modpack: a galaxy-spanning adventure where you repair ancient star gates, travel to shattered worlds, defeat their guardians and slowly rebuild a broken star map. It adds new dimensions, bosses, an original magic system, an orbital base, satellites and a long progression path built for 1 to 8 players.
What it adds
Starfold Gates and new worlds
Travel between worlds through Starfold Gates. Each gate must be attuned with materials and milestones from earlier worlds, so the galaxy opens up step by step instead of all at once. Every world has its own mechanics that change how you play:
- The Shattered Belt: a broken asteroid field to explore and mine.
- Thalassa: an ocean world with a working tide system. Water rises and falls over time, Tide Gates hold back the sea and Tidepearl Clams can be harvested at low tide.
- Pyrrhos: a volcanic ash world over lava seas with five biomes, a shifting ash sky (haze, ash breaks, ash storms), a personal heat meter, thin air and heavier gravity.
Guardian bosses
Each world is protected by a guardian with its own fight mechanics, for example:
- Gravelmaw: a colossal beast you climb onto and fight on its back while dodging gravity wells.
- Tidemother Ysolde: floods her arena as the fight goes on.
- Velka Dravos and Kargoth: guardians of the Belt and Pyrrhos. Beating a guardian unlocks the next steps of progression.
Fair multiplayer by design
- Instanced loot: every player gets their own boss rewards and their own chest loot. No loot races, no duping.
- Personal storage and team regions that other players cannot grief.
- Faction trades are capped to stop reputation farming.
The Orbital Sanctum
Your team's home in orbit: restore a derelict hull, unlock modules with Holo-Projector blueprints and drop down to worlds in drop pods.
Satellites
Launch satellites with Mining Drill, Survey Scanner or Solar Mirror payloads. They keep working while you are away and pay out based on elapsed time.
Astromancy
An original magic system built around the stars. Discover constellations, perform rituals at the Orrery, summon Starlings and compose your own spells at the Star Loom. Higher Loom tiers allow more complex spells and extra spell slots.
Starcatchers and Echo Chambers
Resource automation without seeds or crops:
- Chart a material's spectrum and build a Starcatcher to slowly catch that material from the night sky. Better lenses, more starlight and orbital Solar Mirrors raise the yield.
- Fully research a creature in the Bestiary to unlock an Echo Chamber that replays its common drops without spawning mobs. A world's own materials only become catchable after its guardian is defeated.
Codex, Bestiary and factions
- The Codex tracks your research and lore.
- The Bestiary records every creature you study.
- Each world has a faction (such as the Tidekin and the Ashborn) with reputation and unique trades.
Gear
Custom armor, weapons and tools from the Arsenal, plus world-specific machines such as the Pyrrhic Bronze machines and the Star Forge.
How it changes your game
Instead of one overworld, you get a quest-driven journey across several hostile worlds, each with its own survival rules (tides, heat, air, gravity), its own materials and its own boss. Progress is earned by exploring, researching and building, and the systems feed into each other: guardian kills unlock gates, gates unlock materials, materials power satellites, spells and Starcatchers.
