SharedHealthPlus(+) does what many popular mods do, sharing all players health and hunger and takes it a step further also sharing inventory. This excludes hotbars, armor and offhand so that there's some individuality.
Simple put you're all in this together. One takes damage, then you all do. One eats food, and everyone's full. One gather's resources, and now its property of all.
Designed for cooperative survival and hardcore challenges on Minecraft 26.2 with Fabric.
What is shared?
- Health, including damage and healing.
- Hunger, including saturation and exhaustion.
- All 27 main inventory storage slots.
- The same shared state across dimensions on one world or server.
What stays personal?
- The nine hotbar slots.
- Armor and offhand items.
- Items held by your inventory cursor.
- Crafting-grid contents.
- Experience and Ender Chest contents.
The shared inventory contains one set of items. Picking up a stack onto your cursor removes it from the shared slots. It becomes available to everyone again when you put it back into shared storage.
Joining and saving
The first player initializes a new shared pool from their existing health, hunger, and main inventory. Later players automatically adopt the current pool.
Joining players’ previous main-inventory items are replaced, not merged into the shared inventory. Their personal slots remain their own. Back up an existing world before introducing inventory-sharing behavior.
Shared progress is saved with the world and survives players disconnecting and the server restarting.
Health, hunger, and death
Damage is shared after the struck player’s armor and other damage protection. Healing is shared too.
Everyone’s activity contributes to shared exhaustion. Hunger-based natural regeneration and starvation run once for the group rather than once per connected player.
A totem held by the player receiving lethal damage can save the group. Other players’ totems do not separately prevent a shared death. Absorption hearts and potion effects remain personal.
In hardcore mode, a final death defeats the group. Reconnecting does not revive a defeated run. Shared inventory items drop once, alongside each player’s personal equipment, subject to the normal keep-inventory rule.
Installation
Requires Minecraft 26.2, Fabric Loader 0.19.5 or newer, Java 25 or newer, and Fabric API for Minecraft 26.2.
Install SharedHealthPlus and Fabric API on the dedicated server or the computer hosting the singleplayer/LAN world. Remote players do not need SharedHealthPlus installed.
Sharing activates automatically. Separate Minecraft instances must connect to the same world/server to share progress.
Companion mods
- Hardcore Reset: Includes an adapter tested with version 2.5.0. Whole-world resets clear the shared pool and restore health and hunger. Resetting a returning player does not wipe the current group’s shared inventory.
- Splitscreen Support: Intended for multiple Minecraft instances connected to the same LAN/server world.
- Controlify and MidnightControls: Their documented input behavior is compatible with this approach. Physical controller and splitscreen play has not yet been verified as part of this mod’s automated tests.
These companion mods are optional. SharedHealthPlus does not provide controller support or splitscreen by itself.
For automatic world resets, Hardcore Reset’s author recommends a normal world on Hard difficulty. Follow its separate installation instructions when using it. Hardcore Reset documentation
Automated server tests passed for shared inventory transactions, personal-slot exclusions, health, hunger, totems, reconnects, saving and loading, shared deaths, and an actual Hardcore Reset world replacement.
Future Plans
- More compatability like with curio, and maybe even mana mods
- More config, so you can choose to only share inventory but not health or things of the like
