Shadowfang Companion

Meet Shadow, a loyal black wolf companion for Minecraft 26.3 (NeoForge). He appears when you join a world, follows you, fights for you, finds resources and mines them on command. Optionally, you can talk to him by chat or voice using AI.

FEATURES
- Appears on his own when you join a world: already tamed, with a red collar, in any game mode.
- Immortal by default (can be turned off in settings). If he falls into the void, he returns to you.
- Follows you, sits, defends you, teleports to you when you are far away.
- Finds resources: iron, coal, copper, gold, diamonds, redstone, lapis, emeralds, quartz, wood.
- Mines resources for you, with safety rules: skips ores next to lava or water, doesn't touch your wooden buildings, doesn't dig next to you, and has a limit per command.
- In-game settings screen (Mods > Shadow > Config).
- Languages: English and Russian (follows the game language).

COMMANDS (type in chat; prefix !shadow or !тень)
!shadow come / sit / follow / return / stop
!shadow find <resource>       e.g. !shadow find iron
!shadow where <resource>      repeats the last found location
!shadow mine <resource> [n]   e.g. !shadow mine coal 10
!shadow hello                 shows the command list
Resources: iron, coal, copper, gold, diamond, redstone, lapis, emerald, quartz, wood.
Exact commands work offline and are free.

OPTIONAL AI CHAT AND VOICE (requires your own OpenAI API key and internet)
- Chat: say "!shadow bring me some iron", or "!shadow let's chat" to talk without a prefix ("enough" to stop). Modes: friend, teacher, short.
- Voice: hold V (rebindable) and speak. No prefix is needed.
- AI and voice are OFF by default. They are NOT free and NOT offline: your messages, a few details about your surroundings (biome, time of day, your health) and your voice recordings are sent to OpenAI and are billed to your OpenAI account. Without a key, everything else works normally.
- AI can only trigger the same actions as the commands above. It cannot give you items or run game commands.

PRIVACY
- The API key is stored locally in the config file in plain text (it is masked in the settings screen). It is sent only to OpenAI. You can delete it with a button in settings. Do not share your config folder or its backup files.
- Voice is recorded only while the key is held. Audio is not saved to disk.

MULTIPLAYER
Not tested yet. Each player gets one Shadow. AI and mining work according to the settings and key of the machine running the mod. Server owners can turn mining, AI and the companion off in the config.

REQUIREMENTS
Minecraft 26.3, NeoForge 26.3.0.98 or newer, Java 25. No other mods required. Fabric/Forge are not supported.

KNOWN LIMITATIONS
Early version. Mining reaches 4 blocks, so the tops of tall trees are skipped. Mined items drop at your feet.
